iphigenia Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 I was wondering if anyone with experience of Bren Gun Carriers could help me identify the track link shown in the two pics here: http://img831.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=tracklink02.jpg It was found half-buried on downland in Hampshire. The size (9.5 inches wide) and design, seem to match photos and specs of Carrier/Vickers Light Tank track links, but it would be interesting to hear the opinion of an expert. Thanks. Tim Quote
eddy8men Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 hi tim it's definately carrier track, you just need to find the other 335 links and you'll have a full set all the best eddy Quote

eddy8men Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 no worries tim, keep looking for more you never know what might turn up, like steve said the rest of it could there, which would be nice, restored carrier = £25k :cool2: all the best eddy Quote
steveo578 Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 eddy8men.....keep looking for more you never know what might turn up, All depends where it was "in Hampshire" U/Cs and other Vickers derivatives, Brens,Scouts, Loyd, commerical and War dept. lt. tanks were heavily used in training, not to mention some post war use in agriculture and forestry, However as a downer> an odd track link probably is a left behind when a track was shed and required shortening- fairly common with carriers, but you never know- one of the prototype carriers was buried for 60 odd years in a military reservation in Hampshire.
