b60 thermostat

As I remember the housing is aluminum? If so Marvel Mystery Oil will help. The methyl salicylate in it will soften the aluminum corrosion. It is that ingredient that makes it smell like wintergreen. I guess this is only of value if it is available in the UK. Comes in a red and black container and is marketed as an upper cylinder lubricant.

Good Luck

Apply Plan B, 14 pound hammer! The pice may be useless afterwards, but it makes you feel better! :-D If you have the old one off, try soacking in Coke for a few days, eats most things.
