Smithy
While in Dorset we visited Swanage. Over by the lifeboat station (where I had been manay times before but hadn't seen this) there was a pillbox but it was of different construction that I hadn't seen before with what looked a corrigated iron cast with concrete being molded around it to create the structure? Below is a picture of it. It is now pretty much full of stones right up to the openings.
Pete
I think that it's a Type 25, if that's of any help? http://www.pillboxes-somerset.com/pillbox_types.htm Edited May 28, 2010 by Pete added link
Smithy
Cheers Pete, I should imagine it would have been quite cosy with four men inside it as the link states!
exocet R.I.P.
such a shame the council filled it with stones.Did you visit all the other remains in the area including a church with a built in gun position?
