Jessie The Jeep Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 This topic came up some time ago after I think it was Antarmike posted a picture of a B-29 with two Jets in tow. I was looking at that thread just a few days ago. Quote

N.O.S. Posted September 11, 2009 Author Posted September 11, 2009 I came across the information purely by accident - having googled "Dayton 5th Wheel Coupling". What a crazy world. :coffee: Quote

I was looking at that thread just a few days ago. Although that was a B29 - they must have tried again as my link shows a B36 (Peacemaker?) was used. What a monster! Quote
Jessie The Jeep Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 (edited) Unless you have seen one, you can't comprehend how big. Here's one of four survivors at Castle AFB Museum. In the front view, the two little red lines mark Lynnes head and feet! She's 5ft 6in tall, and can just be made out next to the nose. http://www.sacarr.co.uk/warbirds/pics/b36a.jpg http://www.sacarr.co.uk/warbirds/pics/b36c.jpg Steve Edited September 5, 2020 by Jessie The Jeep Quote
