  1. See Milweb. Jack Bater is selling his 52. I looked at it last year and it seemed pretty good and ran well at Military Odyssey, but I went for a 54 in the end. Good luck
  2. I offered this before, but its now back together, running and looking good! Recently rebuilt motor but only 30k miles and new Mikuni carb so starts easily. On SORN, all documents and recent MoTs. Very complete, original, presentable, rust-free and straight and well worth the firm £1300 I want for it. The motorcycle is in Kent and handy for War and Peace (but will not be there).
  3. Put a Want Ad on the BSA M20'site......I would be v surprised if someone on there could not help you. http://pub37.bravenet.com/forum/static/show.php?usernum=3155626639&frmid=9030&cmd=show
  4. Its still up for sale. Its £1300 firm. If you want to have a look, let me know, but the price would be non-negotiable. Cheers,. Ferg
  5. I do indeed, but I have now nearly sorted the wiring and its all back together. The lights all light now as does the neutral indicator. It is an easy starter....very easy, but the ignition switch does not turn off the engine! Its a sort of magneto set up and just needs one of the connections to be earthed to stop it, so that should be an easy fix. Just not had time to do it.
  6. Good luck with that one. You probably know you can look up the numbers in Orchard and Madden? They likely will not match....no matter, as long as they are WW2.
  7. I think thats the one that was on eBay which has a lot wrong with it, if its supposed to be WW2.
  8. Did you find a bike? I see someone on the BSA M20 site had a lead for you. There is a G3L on sale on Milweb at present, although not cheap! Thats the highest price I have seen for one, even with a trailer thrown in. And the front wheel hub is wrong.
  9. The trouble is that usually the sellers of such bikes don't want to sell at a price that would allow you to make good the deficiencies within a reasonable price frame. They are looking for a less discerning punter! Usually makes more sense to buy something that is mostly correct and complete, even if scruffy. Genuine tinware and major parts are hard to find and very expensive, although you can save money buying repro stuff. I would try advertising again........another very good place to try an advert is the AMOC owners club site. I got mine that route.
  10. I posted a Want Advert, but if anyone can point me towards a cab door (passenger side, ie right hand) for a WC54 ambulance, I would be very grateful. Any condition considered. Any hulks out there?
  11. That 1941 one on eBay needs a lot of work to put right, if the engine and frame nos are correct wartime......you would have to check. But the front forks, headlamp, mudguards, speedo, etc are postwar. So its pretty much a standard offering for a mongrel a WDG3L. If the frame and engine are correct, then it could be the basis for a rolling restoration, if you buy at the right price, but much better and original ones do come up fairly regularly.
  12. You could try posting a Want Ad on the BSA M20 site which is the most active site for WD bikes. They do come up for sale there. Good bunch of people. http://pub37.bravenet.com/forum/static/show.php?usernum=3155626639&frmid=0&msgid=0
  13. Passenger side cab door (right hand side) wanted for a Dodge WC 54 ambulance. Any condition considered. Telephone Ferg on 01233 339288.
  14. OK; sorry, I cannot help you with that. The set I have I would part with, but no use to you. If you get stuck, you could always put together an aerial using one of those old microphone connectors and an old style car aerial, suitably modded (car boot sales are great places to find such bits) and likely the carrier will be a simple thing to fabricate?
  15. Is the set one of these? If so, is the metal case you want the case shown here, or a carrier?
  16. So here is the dummy Mk III that I made up, using a mixture of real parts where I could find them and "dummy" bits and pieces to replicate others. Its non working of course apart from the on/off light! But it looks a reasonable copy from a few yards away, I think. I have the correct receiver, morse key and headphones, so the setup should look authentic when installed in the Dodge.
  17. .......and send a cheque? Thanks, Richard. So many internet scams, its a worry. I try to limit posting of my payment card details. Even had a scam email the other day, purporting to be from the DVLA wanting to give me a £360 road fund refund......just advise them of my bank details, blah, blah. Its a constant battle against the scum-mers.
  18. I have just been filling out their vehicle entry form. I see some welcome improvements in the fee structure with additional vehicles free and no toilet surcharge (must have learned their lesson from last year!). However, when I got to the paying by card bit, there seemed to be a lack of security indicated with what looked like rather sketchy card detail entry and no indication of any payment security measures.......so one's card details are up for grabs by any old hacker??? Decided not to bother. Pay at the gate with that weird papery stuff?
  19. Sorry to hear about you bad back, Ron. You still manage to accomplish more on a daily basis than anyone else I know! When aches and pains strike, I revert to my medicine cabinet...........but summer and muscle soothing warmth is on its way, they say!!
  20. I went through the process of trying to buy a decent original unmolested Jeep over a two year period.....and gave up! TBF, the first one I saw was the best and I should have bought it, but I was wary of the price asked at the time.....only to find it looking very cheap only some 12 months later! By last year I had decided that prices in general were just silly for something so common and......well, rather humdrum after you strip away the hype. But I agree, the market is always correct. Do these unsold eBay bangers get passed on to the professional Jeep restorers at a knockdown price? Only to eventually re-appear with a £30k price tag for sale to those with more money than time/sense/imagination? Not sure but I think its a brave person who thinks such stuff represents a good investment. Anyhow, I turned my back on tiddly Willys and went with mighty Dodge.......anyone got some decent storage space in Kent?!!
  21. Aircharging trucks? For recharging compressed air engine starters on tanks and planes?
  22. I think the rectangular knobs are HRO origin, which makes sense as they used HRO receivers. Actually, I have now amassed pretty much all the bits I need to fabricate a dummy MkIII. I found a couple of sites where folk in the US have put together working copies so that helped track down the key real parts on the facia plus some other bits and bobs I can use to make up copy parts. I have a sheet of tufnol on order to make up the facia which can be engraved with the various knob labels........as they did on the working US copies. If you are interested, here is the site of a Mk III fabricator. http://www.blogoteca.com/mk3/index.php?l=1&pag=0
  23. I forgot to add that it also has a new Mikuni carb (more efficient than the Amal, they say, and reputedly makes it easy to start, tho' I have never had a problem) and the speedo indicates 34k miles. Tyres, lights, etc good. I have owned both the Harley MT350 and a couple of Armstrong MT500s and the latter is (IMHO) a much nicer ride having more grunt.
