  1. Nice pic, it has probably been shunting around in the yard but that's some extreme misalignment on the rear axles!
  2. I was just going to say that after fitting them your driving will change, but Mike has put it better than I would, that's why you should make sure they're secure. There is a theory that a sharp spike fixed to the steering wheel would reduce accidents more!
  3. But it's not new.........my neighbour just had a garage sale but wouldn't sell me the garage! had to haggle for ages to get 50p off a £3 book!
  4. I have fitted them in a Series one LR, if you use the type that have clip on fixings (some competition types) all that will show when removed is the eye bolts down beside the seats. Fixed these through the floor and made a steel strap to connect to the chassis underneath. The shoulder fixing will vary according to the vehicle. Not sure about the regulations regarding self fitting, but who cares as long as no one hits the windscreen. Remove them for MOTs to be sure they don't fail inspection, they are a funny lot.. These below are just lap straps from a military ambulance, but clip on.
  5. Thanks for the replies chaps, seems good stuf to have handy, I'll get some next time I see some and have a go. So you won't be wanting that dusty old thing then Mike..........will a tenner do?
  6. It's worse when you start talking about how economical slates where, try to explain that you didn't write on them with chalk, only to find you can't for the life of you remember what the writing tool was made of and have to look it up in wikipedia ! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slate_%28writing%29 And they just can't believe that there were only 36 kids in two classes in your village school.
  7. The hose used for pneumatic drills is the right stuff, you can reuse the spiral wire off your old ones if it ain't too rusty. Try your local plant hire firm, ask for a few off cuts. they were not all wire bound I think this is a later thing.
  8. Best one I saw was on a black stretched Cadilac Eldrado 6 wheel pickup in big red letters "REDSKIN BUILDERS, HEAP GOOD JOB"
  9. A friend of mine has up geared his Cummnis L10 250 engine/Fuller Gearboxed International by inserting a reversed 6x4 Miitant box after the gearbox. works very well, pulls an artic trailer living van. Another strong box he considered was a Leyland Buffalo, which gives a higher ration still.
  10. If anyone wants a load taken that way from Southeast area on 26th for diesel money, let me know.
  11. What an amazing process, those bits look like a CGI of it, how long does it take, and does the part need any further treatment?
  12. A trader that does SE shows had a few at least one new halogen this year, a New Zeland bloke I think, someone on here may know who he is.
  13. Agree with the above, to make a good job splash out on some of the fire resistant polyisocyanurate foam (Celotex or similar) rigid insulation boards to put under the sheets, even 25mm will have a significant effect on you comfort levels, just use longer fixings, roofing supplier will advise on that. Some roofing sheets come with it factory applied to the underside.
  14. I think there is a saddle, neck, head, breast and tail cover, maybe to cushion under armour. Possibly for a dog sized animal, but maybe a horse, we need size please.
  15. Loads about at shows from a tenner or so rough up to £65.00 for new Halogen type.
  16. I was looking at other websites so didn't get the hint, short attention span I'm afraid.....
  17. No but it looks like some woman's in trouble there's a glove gone missing....unless of course she's still knitting it.
  18. Gissa clue, how about the second column of figures header?
  19. It was a bit like Christmas at Mayhem.......he was very happy then as well, like a kid with a new toy :-D.
  20. :-D :-D This is the professional repair all round the turret at the top of the part in question, looks OK but not much penetration with gaps inside, hence my reinforcing to hold the gear change gate above, (redish colored bits of steel), I have been given another casting repaired to a slightly lower standard which I thought I might improve by filling the gaps inside and then weld on some strengthening webs/gussets. this would be a spare and not so much a critical job, just an experiment for winter evenings to come.
  21. Thanks Clive, the first video should work now and it is indeed Technoweld, there are other types around but this video seemed the most informative. I was thinking of the problems with the Scammell gear change gate breaking off at the alloy casting, I have a spare that has been repaired by welding but because of the shape there is little penetration and it cannot be welded from inside. I thought this might penetrate the cracks and do a better job.
  22. This stuff would seem to be perfect for us, has any one here used this product and is it any good? Part 1: Something went wrong... Part 2: Something went wrong... Part 3: Something went wrong...
