  1. Sorry Andy, I know you wanted an easier project, but there's been an accident on the way to your place!
  2. Well this is as far as I ever got with modeling, my spanners were too big.
  3. I spotted a picture of Forceful in an advert for a metal Explorer model kit, emailed the firm and got a complimentary model back! A bit small though, tried to put it together but it was too fiddly for me and it's stuck in a drawer somewhere. Any one want it? I often wonder why no one seems to make a decent kit of an Explorer. Loads of Pioneers though.
  4. Had a chance to look at the red Booths L10 engined Explorer yet Andy? Would love a picture of the bell housing, etc. if you could manage it mate!
  5. One of my neighbors has an extensive and cheap model railway growing in his garden for many years, it's all made up of stuff from boot fairs, not to scale but fantastic. It has all the usual landscape stuff and even a gravel pit with conveyor belts, stream with frogmen, all very busy and the tiny rock plants and weeds look perfect! The only thing he has bought are the engines, 3.25 gauge, cuddly tank engines, shunters an such, even got a couple of MVs so still on topic!
  6. Wrong thread, this is a DIORAMA, :-D not really my thing but pretty good all the same, nice pix CW.

    Gee spot.

Well at least you were there and involved and had the experiences, (trying desperately not to sound like a GOM!)

    Gee spot.

Often the way, try to make up for skill with cunning, pity about the plastic boat, at least you got placed.

    Gee spot.

CW, you say replaced the parts, completely new castings? Or how did they do it, will it last? Pix please
  10. What does make me very un-grumpy is to be in a position of Power! :-D
  11. Just spotted your post, Welcome aboard, now that's proper reenacting! Are there no pre-bent ones around? Not so much fun though I suppose, were you intending to repeat it at every show? You'll spot us Scammell chaps in the clubhouse bar by our Meadows / Gardner piston beer mugs, They will need refreshing of course
  12. Hi Dave, welcome, have to say I agree with Bodge, be different, save all those skinned knuckles too!
  13. Hi Mark, Scammell, Daimond T, you've come to the right place, pull up a bar stool, make yourself at home! :-D
  14. Hi Mistress, glad you found your way here, if you nip round to the introductions and welcomes section and say hello, some of the more gallant members will take on your clubhouse cleaning duties and turn your 423 off for you after it has cooled down in the executive parking space that is being swept clean in eager anticipation of your arrival. Your name will have this effect on them, and your 432 will earn some respect, and quite right too!
  15. MOP to girlfriend "Oh look, that ones got a vice on the front.........and a pipe bender on the other side!" To be fair he did look back and decide he'd said something silly, didn't tell his girlfriend though.
  16. You could go to your profile page and create a personal album with all your pix in it, alternatively you could post into the relevant British vehicles or Transporters and wreckers sections. look forward to seeing 'em.
  17. Welcome Brooky, all those British vehicles, feel free to share any pix and info, you must have loads in a drawer somewhere!
  18. Hi Phil, welcome, you'll like it here, nice Mat
  19. Wise words from one who knows Mark, safety first.
  20. That's sorted that one out then chaps, that old saying comes to mind as well, Red sky at night, winch rope's alight! :-D
