  1. I have tried to buy (some of) them in the past and been met with an fairly enequivocal 'f' off, not someone else wanting to buy those trucks. Perhaps they have mellowed (the owners that is) over the last three or four years. Ken
  2. "Question why is it when your in, your under there feet & when your out they miss you & state "You never spend enough time with me" That's a tricky one Stu, but if you can get the balance right....... Try not getting under her feet when you are at home, that way she will get used to you not being under her feet and will not notice (as much) when you are out.... Ken
  3. If you need anything else scanning, just let me know Roy. Regards Ken
  4. "Riser meaning heat control valve?" Yep, that's what i meant. You couldn't have dropped something down the front pipe could you? I'd be tempted to drop or loosen the front pipe at the exhaust manifold and try it. It will sound awful if it runs.... B ut would be a way of ruling out a blocked exhaust.... Ken
  5. Sounds as if something is blocked. Does the manifold riser work? Which part of the exhaust system goes red? Ken
  6. The rear stud for the carb mouting on the inlet manifold - there is a little 'tab' with a hole in it at one end for the spring and a hole at the other end which mounts on the rear stud. Ken
  7. On an MB, there should be a tag just behind the bumper, on the inside of the drivers side chassis rail. If it is a GPW the number should be stamped on top of the chassis rail, near the brake flexi pipe mount/top shock mount on the driver's side, and should look something like this.... Ken
  8. If you are interested in half tracks, get to the Ponderosa show in Heckmondwike (9th/10th July), my two will be there, and should be at least another three attending. My fleet is based in Boroughbridge and Morley so just a hop away on the M62 (ish). Ken
  9. I have the samples that you see in the images if they are of any use? I do also have a 20mm crate somewhere, but that will be buried in one of the vehicles.... I can dig it out, but it will take a while.... Regards Ken
  10. Like these? Which i suspect will have come in some of these, probably with specific markings....
  11. You are very welcome, i had some tea, and a co driver to hold it, i think it was more of a shock for Adam as he was still asleep in the back of the GMC - now that would have either been a very good or a very bad dream. I suspect bad, as when he finally opened the rear curtain and was faced with the Somme (when he had gone to sleep parked on tarmac) and the GMC attached to the Chevy..... I am still sorry that i could not put a name to the face - but i'll remember for next time! Ken
  12. I knew i knew you - just could not for the life of me put a name to the face - maybe it was the lack of pram this time.... Ken
  13. Whilst i am still trying to find any documentary evidence of the D2 in military service in WW2, they did have their own G number, "G124, M2 Light Tractor, Caterpillar D2". The hunt goes on! Ken
  14. Any idea of year of manufacture, or contract would be a big help. Does it have a winch? Was it always a tipper? A quick look at 'the book' suggests the following possible ranges:- 428589 (a single cckwx 353 dump 1941), 4139626 - 4140925 (353 dump 1942), 4484953 - 4500783 (352 dump with winch 1942), 47327303 - 4736910 (353 dump with winch 1944). The book only goes up to 1944 so any later production is not listed. Regards Ken
  15. Thankyou. Don't know why my search didn't turn that up - but it didn't. Regards Ken
  16. 24V Prestolite starter motors. Part Number MHJ 7102 T, as attached. They are NOS and for sale if anyone wants one. Discount if you can tell me what they fit.... Regards Ken
  17. Don't be leaving the M3 out of the half track line up or she will no doubt break down in the middle of the arena! Having an M16 and M14 side by side will be pretty unique i think, although yours has more guns than mine - but i'll make the difference up with the Polsten. The Studebaker will be there, possibly still 'in the rough' but she will be there, we might even manage the D2 for a maiden outing as well. The M5 generator in the Ben Hur will be test run at Howarth so all being well we should have that and the M10 operational this year. The Diamond T regulator is at last on it's way back and the WC62 appears to have cheered up so preparations are going well. I suspect we will also have a huge pile of period ammunition crates to hide behind. Ken
  18. I'm hoping to have the US6 on the road by then as well - looks like i will be short of drivers again! I think there will be at least 4 half tracks there, with Tony P's and Stuart's as well. The maiden outing for the Sherman is unfortunatley looking unlikely now. Ken
  19. We are going, with anything which is running, including probably both half tracks and the M5 Generator. Ken
  20. It does Roy, Ord 9 snl G-509. I actually have two copies, a hard bound copy which includes the allowances datd 1951 and a softbound copy which does not, dated 1944. If you need any more info from them, feel free to ask. I am away in Normandy for a couple of weeks from tomorrow but will catch up when i get back. These things turn up on e-bay every now and again, and you could try portrayal press (http://www.portrayal.com). Regards Ken
  21. Have one of each and then you can justify it on the grounds of 'research'.
