  1. Which oil and where do you get it? The vehicle in question is actually a 1939 Wolsley 12 hp.
  2. The skill and the knowledge is where to find the information!
  3. The litle Komet was apparently known a sthe 'Blond Bombshell' as it used Hydrogen Peroxide , as per hair bleaching to fuel it. Downside was contact with the fuel could melt you. :-D Great picture shows how small it really was.
  4. At least you're on the top of the hill! :-D
  5. Make sure if your using long boots you get BREECHES! these go halfway down calf and have lace of velcrose fastening. Don't buy Johdpurs that go all down the legs. Bloody near impossible to get long boots over and uncomfortable if you do. You can still get the original design, including flappy front or button fly through saddlers, worth looking if they have any second hand ones.
  6. The Royal Navy had a steel dustbin for similar purposes. To be polished outside, and inside!
  7. I thought they wore breeches? To be precise Bedford Cord cavalary twill breeches. They can sometimes be found in farmers markets and country junk sales. or the classified of Horse & Hound. :-D
  8. These people had some at Combined Ops, if you can prove variation. I bought a Luger gas BB off them. Very pleaed with price and it. http://www.mark1cheapbbguns.co.uk/mall/departmentpage.cfm/Mark1/_430494/1 Better than a de-ac as you can actually shot it.
  9. Your'e going to end up keeping it, you know you will.
  10. No meesing about in puddles I see. Looks fantastic. I once saw a whole camp diorama laid out at a vehicle show consisting of nothing but models. Looked really good. Ever thought about doing such a thing?
  11. One person, (NOT me!) who was new to the job of bus driving got lost, we all do it. However! Rather than contacting the garage and owning up, they decided to turn the vehicle, a nearly new VERY expensive double decker Volvo, on the village green. Might have worked if it hadn't been for the weeks worth of rain before hand!
  12. Bet she could tell some tales! :-D Be aware though, good runner yes, good stopper , essential. I know one now at Finmere being used to build a private railway, that has a big plate in the cab saying Don't stop on manhole covers.
  13. I'd send a copy of V5 a copy of insurance and a few pictures of the vehicle, they always like pictures. Have you e mailed? I did and they were very helpful, even checked that the record was there before I sent money.
  14. Welcome to the world! Just think of it as 1:1 Mecanno kit, your forever dropping the nuts and bolt behind the seats. :-D
  15. Rule one- Fuel gauge is only there for show! Both my Dodge gauges slightly over read, scared 8 bells out me when I found out the first time. I was imagining all sorts of grief.
  16. Do the job properly! Get hold of Frank and tell him your woes, he is a good listener. Then get a coil and electronic ignition from him, Happy Days Mate!:-D Best investment in MV's I've made, easy to fit , nothing to see and starts every time 6 volt or 12. http://www.classicheads.com/ No I'm not on commision, just very pleased with his products.
  17. I've one of Frank Jolleys electronic whiz boxes in both the 6 volt and 12 volt Dodges. Pull choke, bit of throttle, press pedal! Brilliant bits of kit.
  18. Who remeebrs a very old film about 'Who will have an acident on the way home?' One section is some toff who hires a Jag and dosen't know there are two tanks?
  19. Thank you Mon V. Unfortunatley &^%** working, the bills keep coming in!
  20. Yes please! A cardboard brain is always valauble. That's why pilots always use printed check lists!
  21. I've jumped six volt of tweleve OK. Points mad, make sure all lights and acessories turned off. Get second person , touch slave lead on point of turning over and as soon as she goes take away. Only put on for a few seconds if not starting. A small slosh of pure fuel into the carb can help, if it fires you know the igntion system is working. Keep head away from top of carb it can blow back.
  22. Haven't seen any info this year. Can you give details? Good show deserves to get back into the top leauge.
