  1. I just heard a classic following last weekend, 'Oh it was teribble! There was so little in Waitrose'. So shop at *** Tescos then! :nut:
  2. I do spend a lot of time talking to and explaining things to young people. As has been said, we aren't getting any younger.
  3. And then>>>>>> You get some muppet who has spent a couple of hours playing 'Call of Duty' and think they know it all.
  4. Vandal! those old knives are probably antiques by now! :-D
  5. DVLA seem to decide things on wether the person you talk you had a decent breackfast or not. My WC54 was exported 15 years before I got her. When I went to my local office to re-register I idily asked if her original English number was still available. The lady went and checked, after a couple of minutes she came back and said it hadn't be re-allocated, did I want it? They were great all I had to do was sign the form after they'd checked it.
  6. The thing abut the older vehicles is, they 'aint building anymore! Even the dear old Series 3 Landy, the starting block for many are getting rare. The result is less about ,prices go up. Like off road competion, 25 years ago you could drive the vehicle to an event and have some fun, and even come home with a prize. A couple of days ago I saw a Land Rover 90 which had had £100,000 spent on it! And was being scrapped as it was non competive.
  7. Maybe not offically. But I'm wiling to bet the odd one was 'aquired'.
  8. If you lot build good kit, expect people to work it to death! :-D

  10. Yeah, lets put grease on his lens!
  11. Trouble is it was an in house magazine. Now the great unwashed have acess, info will naturally be limited.

  13. Welcome, though you are saying hello to many parts of the world. We are an internattional bunch. :-D
  14. Around our way, very little disruption. A few trees down, lots of leaves and branches around the place. Fortunatley no damage to my kit.

  16. Every thing tied down solid. As son has just gone self employed tree surgery and landscaping, may be a nice earner before Christmas! An ill wind etc.
  17. Welcome, your'e a brave man making your self a hostage to fortune. I see questions are already coming in. :-D
  18. They are a super little machine. In Jersey where it used to be that any patch of dirt was ploughed the Ransome was ideal, especially on the Cotils! (The local name for the steep valley sides) If a Ransome couldn't plough it, then you chucked the plough over and towed it up on a winch cable.
  19. The 10th Essex re-enactment group of which I'm part are now starting to firm up things for next year. The plan is to hold events in Mons and various commersations on the route. The suggestion has made that MV owners in the area might be intrested in joining in. Help with such things as shifting water cans about and the odd personnel transport, anyone intrested please PM me and I'll make sure your on the circulation list.
