  1. Yup We think post war, My wifes Grandad is in civies. He was in WW1 and then reme- poss. civilian help. Had a message from Tunnard on flicker- he was reme and he said "Colchester" for location. Gerry

  4. Hi Guys, My wife found this pic of Monty inspecting- in amongst her late mothers photos. My wifes granfather was Arthur Payne, "short bloke in cap and white shirt on front row" Arthur was in WW1 and worked in Reme workshops (poss Camo painting) during WW2- lived in Colchester- transfered briefly to luton then back again to Col. Anyone have any ideas on When, where or why this event took place? Any help appreciated.:-) Gerry

But this is a dillema that i am deciding on with mine- we wanted an American jeep- it turned out mine was used by the British, rebuilt by the British, renumbered by the British sold by the British and later I will return it to M1501237 - I am still looking for that elusive pic of it in service (or as 49Yh39):nut: I look forward to the debates on it not being original- This was a debate that evolved in the RS Escort world.   7. Totally agree!!! I did some smaller bits last summer, it took ages, needs a big compressor and what a mess!!! Pay a mobile.

  11. Sorry Mark no!! Dad was an MTM in 233ocu and was then trained on the Diesel Generators on the American Ground approach Radar- He still wont talk about it quoting Official secrets!!!! When they were not putting aviation fuel in motors to take around the track, they were on their Motor bikes. I have a great pic of his BSA Gold Star.

  21. Hi, got the tax renewal today for the GPW , no big deal- oh but says needs MOT cert :nut: which ran out Dec. Phoned DVLA to be told, that i need to download V112. found it online, you have to take it to P/O. our P/O shut and gone, tried next village- no sorry try town. Helpfull assistant- sorted. although was advised that this will be required each year- shame in this day and age the system acknowledge this. (Oh I had the garage Pre mot her on safety grounds) maybe an mot might be easier.:nut:
