  1. Rick, the support was used under the later 2 stud carrier, not sure without looking but around late 43/44 I think.
  2. John, if the trailer tree is getting too big, consider a 30% reduction (on the tree not the collection:D ), if it comes out well... i spy another trailer tree in the making :clap:.

  7. As she has sat for a while, how good is the earth lead- is it getting warm/hot. this was the prob with my 6v jeep earth- it was so slow. A better lead sorted the cranking speed.
  8. Sounds like me- too many books on jeeps....:-D Reading the warpaint book (i got them via amazon) it seems there was many changes depending on region/ campaign.
  9. Yup p81 is a Clarke air portable dozer. take a look on google images... http://olive-drab.com/idphoto/id_photos_ca1.php There was an article a short while ago in the dozer article in classic military magazine. They fit (Just) on a pallet- well sort of.

  12. A12 this morning near witham heading (North) colchester bound a jeep and bantam trailer with a canvas raised top on the trailer. is the owner on here???or known??? I am interested in making a similar option to carry more kit.

Scott there is a lot on this in various jeep books- I keep buying them :-D The British jeeps were mainly ordered in batches on contract and given numbers then -although the ex American jeeps contradicts that statement. find your chassis number, calculate date of build and contract and that will give an approx hood number paramiter. As a Guess it would either start M49 or M5 or another option is a rebuilt M15 prefex number. If you want a jeep to a unit and you are happy to risk seeing another jeep with the same number (long shot but it might happen) find a pic from that unit. :-D hope that helps Gerry
  16. Another great day Re pics- Maybe MHillard will post his pics on here- or if on Fb look up "EAFVG" (east anglian fighting vehicle group), its a closed group but viewable to the public. the pics are not mine to post- sorry:( The run was from Colchester, Essex to Acton in Suffolk.
  17. Last weekend- I took part in the EAFVG Heavy Vehicle run as one of 2 small vehicles amongst the Diamonds, Ward lafrance, Pioneers etc- with our canvas up. Today i needed to get out in the better weather with the top Down Roll on Summer

  19. Quite. Arthur (my wifes grandad) joined up under age during ww1- both his brothers joined at the start of ww1 after losing both their parents. This pic was prized and kept by him.
