  1. Thanks for that Martyn. I'll give it a go! Can I also apologize for all the PM's I haven't replied to. I had know idea they were there till I looked for Martyn's! Other forums I use send you an email to tell you about a PM. I guess I'll have to look more regularly. Ron
  2. Thanks Martyn. I met him at Bob's funeral and I think you are right with Duncan. Perhaps you could PM me some details. Cheers Ron
  3. Exactly so Richard. That one was bought from that website by a Dutch friend of mine. The other one was found on a council rubbish tip years ago by a man not far from me. He also had a Mk1 and a Mk2. I visited him several times over the years, and he agreed to sell me all three. But he died last year before it happened. He left everything to his nephew and I know not what has happened to them. BTW I was talking to Andy Tiernan at last weeks Kempton jumble. He and a friend are now producing most parts for Welbikes including complete frames. I was quite impressed with the saddle they had on display. Could be worth a call! Ron
  4. Yes that picture is on of the six prototypes built before production of the MK1 commenced. Two of these prototypes are still surviving. Note the slick tyres on the prototype. Ron
  5. Well done Tom. I'm following with interest. Hopefully you are finding useful parts from the car we retrieved from that strange woman? Note my 'M' number is not far from yours! Ron
  6. Shouldn't be a problem. Send me a PM for my email address. Ron
  7. I'm in Poole....Not so far away. Ron
  8. Thanks for that Runflat. I'll search through them in due course. Ron
  9. Yes very well done! It's only the second time I've seen another one rolling. Has anyone got a link to the footage of the one in the 60's in a British scrap yard? It's the vehicle that now resides in Auburn and still looks like it has the same mud from that footage. Ron
  10. That is a nice picture. I don't know a lot about this period. Probably a Triumph? But imagine riding one of those around that rocky area!!!! Ron
  11. I'll give it a go in due course Rik, when the weather is nicer. Although it does feel strange just sitting on it while wheeling it about. The big, high headlamp makes it feel like there is no front wheel or mudguard. Also the front fork spring seems very stiff to me. I think probably because these were designed mainly for side-car use. However the previous owner had ridden it some years ago on the colonial section of the Arbuthnot trial.....So it must work ok.(I have seen the pictures) Also nothing much is going anywhere at the moment as I've shuffled everything close together for my shed alterations. Ron
  12. That is exactly how it is. One tap with main and reserve function, and a balance pipe at the front. Ron
  13. Here is a site that a friend of mine is involved with. Some interesting vehicles/bikes. With more to come. Ron http://www.rie-store.com
  14. Ha Ha! Thanks Steve. I'm concentrating on alterations to my shed at the moment. You never know, another months work and I might be able to fit another bike in???!!!. Ron
  15. This must be Les, where my UC came from! I hope Tom is learning to fetch and carry spanners and hammers? Ron
  16. Yes it is mine Luke. I agree! Find a WD G3L and join us for the big one in 2014. http://pub37.bravenet.com/forum/static/show.php?usernum=3155626639&frmid=16&msgid=1243958&cmd=show Ron
  17. Well since you ask Luke. You probably are in the wrong place. I don't think there is anything about this AJS that is military. A picture or a link to the sellers advert would help. I'm guessing it's a very similar bike to AMC's wartime Matchless G3L, which was about the most liveliest Brit WD bike produced through the war years. Also the only one with Tele forks, which made them the most favoured with DR's. Parts are readily available from firms like http://www.amcclassicspares.com and lots of information from http://archives.jampot.dk/ Ron
  18. OK Lex I was busy editing my last post while you replied. I don't think I'll get to Malvern. But I'm sure you can leave it with Rob M. or someone. I'm not sure how to get these Dutchies parcels to you yet? Ron
  19. Yes please Lex! Save the main part of the silencer for me. The WD/L is finished and has oil in the engine. But I haven't run it yet. I'm busy making alterations to my shed to make room to get it off the bench. Ron
  20. Ah sorry lex. My mistake. This is the one I really dredged from the Channel. Ron
  21. Yes Lex! This 340 was in a sorry state when I recovered it from the English Channel..... I wish I knew how to post an icom with tongue in cheek!..... Also where do these Velo MAF's come from that were supposedly sunk to the bottom of the Channel? Ron
  22. You boys with your little toys! Here's me with a 340 military Chief that I recently re-built for a friend............It's a 'kin great lump and I don't want one!! Ron
  23. Ron, I still regret selling that nice rear mudguard that's on your hybrid now! Cheers, Lex Schmidt No good crying over spilt milk Lex! You don't even like M20's Ha Ha. Ron
  24. They're all giants in the Netherlands! In the land below sea level...It's the survival of the tallest. Ron
