  1. Chris all the information is on this forum in the first 4-5 sticky posts. http://pub37.bravenet.com/forum/static/show.php?usernum=3155626639&frmid=16&cmd=show But email shaef2014@gmail.com for an entry form. But please be aware that I will be closing entries at the end of this month, by which time I will have to produce final numbers to the camp site. Regards Ron
  2. Hi again John. After re reading your last post, I think you may have misunderstood my comments. When I said you are free to bring your BM to Normandy.....I meant just that! After all, 'It's a free country'... But our tour and ride outs are strictly for Allied forces machines. It's all in the original booking on information. Ron
  3. Yes Richard I wouldn't publish his contact details without first asking him. But my many meetings with him and his family over the last 25 years, indicate to me that he is more than happy to talk about MV's at any time, any place, anywhere!! He also does the best Tommy Cooper impression I've ever seen......Fez and all. Ron
  4. John you are perfectly free to bring your German bike to Normandy. But our tour and Guinness world record run is strictly for Allied forces motorcycles. We did have a guy on a German outfit who turned up on the 65th Guinness run, who tacked himself on the end of the row of bikes and refused to budge. He risked jeopardising our event and we had to make it clear to the Guinness organisation that he wasn't included in our final number of 143 bikes. Regards Ron (main organiser 2014 DR tour)
  5. I've only ever cocked and fired mine a couple of times (with no projectile). It takes a lot of effort to cock the thing and the recoil can be very painful if you don't hug the But very tightly into your shoulder. As a matter of interest. Jeremy Clarkson's (from TV's Top Gear) Father in Law won a VC at Arnhem for attacking three German tanks with a PIAT and firing it from the hip!!! Ron
  6. As a start reference for my Morris 8cwt, Tony let me take lots of pictures and measurements of the wireless set up in that Snipe when I was boating on the Thames back in about 1989. Afterwards he took me back to my boat in his Rolls Royce. Nice folk! Ron
  7. Yes if you view his other items you will see he also makes 7/8" grips and 'Y' straps. Ron
  8. Here he is http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WD-ARMY-CANVAS-HANDLEBAR-GRIP-1-inch-BARS-NEW-DESIGN-matchless-norton-/181268163718?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item2a346cac86 You probably have 1" bars? The last 2-3 contracts went over to 7/8" bars. Ron
  9. Do you mean canvas grips Andy? Originals are very hard to find. There is a bloke who usually sells repos on ebay. His name is 'YELOWBIRDCUSTARD' or similar. Ron
  10. I'm sure I could source some thick walled 2 3/4" tube here in UK. But Paz will have to manage where ever he is. I'm guessing Argentina?? Anyway here are the other details. The end of shaft 'C' looks smaller on mine than it does in your picture? Possible different MK's or manufacturers! Ron
  11. Forget that 70mm tube! Try and find some 2 3/4 inch stuff Ha Ha. I'll get round to those other measurements later. Will have to unlace my canvas butt cover!!!!!????? Ron
  12. If you have the capability and skills. Make the whole thing and working. I have seen replicas selling for silly money. I wonder if I could be lucky with drawings/pictures of a hand spike for my 2 pounder anti tank gun? Ron
  13. No problem with measurements and pictures, I'll forward these to you by email. Ron
  14. OK I did it anyway. I'm stuck indoors waiting for a parcel to be delivered. All measurements are in Napoleonic!! and good to within 1mm or so... My foot is telescopic, so measured in the down position. Ron
  15. I have an original de-act PIAT and would sit down and do those measurements if no one gets there first. Best to PM me with your email address. Ron

    Smaller bikes

Yes I do Lex, but these ones have proper four stroke engines. Ha Ha! Ron

    Smaller bikes

Just for interest. Here are a couple of the smaller WO bikes. Both are 1939 and 250cc SV. They are BSA KC10 and Royal Enfield WD/D. Ron
  19. Yes Lex I had to curve the gear change lever a bit and some blow holes in my welding have had to be rectified and back to the plate shop. Thanks Niels! I was sorely tempted to paint it army green and pretend I had the only BSA/ Indian get together prototype from 1943. But that would be lying and I also needed something shiny for a change. Ron
  20. 'P' Phantom signals! Over to the experts on vehicle markings. Would a Phantom signals vehicle have carried the Allied star? Or more likely an RAF recognition roundel? Ron
  21. I know there's not much interest for this here! But it is all military. It's running now and sounds just like it should.....A concrete mixer! I can't ride it yet as I had to alter the gear change lever which has gone back to the plate shop. I'll post these final pictures and then get my coat. Ron
  22. Not long now then Tom! Did the fan belts arrive yet? Any good? Ron

TL36648 was part of contract S1246 for 2500 bikes built between June-Sept 1943. I calculate your tank census number to be C5205248. Your bike is fairly early in that contract so I would guess a supply date in mid 1943. You should have a frame build date on the top lug under the saddle which should read something like:- TEC 4.43. I just made the date up and TEC = Triumph Engineering Co. Ron
