I have to ask two questions. First, how on earth do you decide where to start, hull and engine. Secondly how did you get to obtain it off the ranges? Did at any moment you think " What the **** have I got here?"..

When Im not running the business... I spend a lot of my time analysing these things. A type of Roman pottery from Gaul called Samian made between 1st century and 3rd century. Most of the stuff I get to look at is in bits, and incredibly small bits at that. I weigh, identify who made them and where they come from. Then compile a report. Mrs W thinks Im barmy-crackers but it beats watching mush on the TV.

Had a look at your video Chris (it needs a narrative!), it did look a bit rough when you bought it. Did you have any issues with the drivetrain or gearbox during restoration?

Looking at the hints and tips from Dougs heavy metal page I might save a few more shekels and get a decent running one rather one that has been stood for a while. They are not that straightforward a vehicle if you arent used to them by the look of it.

Going to look at a couple of ferrets over Xmas. They havent been run for a year or so but were runners before they were laid up. Is there anything in particular I should be looking for in the way of corrosion, mechanical problems when viewing them?

There is one breaking on Milweb at the moment but its a Mk2 Ferret, was there a difference in the hulls between the Mk1 and Mk2s?
