  1. Now you can see what a proper photographer can do. Apologies for the delay in posting my own stuff. Hope to start either later today or tomorrow. I have had some stuff to deal with. Meantime enjoy Phil's - he is an artist. My aircraft pics, for one thing, just do not compare. More please Zoomer...
  2. welcome aboard Tony....... MB
  3. Man's truck; Man's drink - we heard it all at Parham. All we got to see was a pink tractor with a pink bucket. No cushions.
  4. take your wellies............. MB
  5. Have done. Really sorry to have missed you. We were all really sorry for you...see you at Beltring. MB
  6. Hello folks, Bolero will appear in the October cover date of CMV. I would like to make sure I have all the details of where we went., how long we queued for a bacon roll, how we ran out of gas, how my car wouldn't start, how much rum Steve gave Jack, who attended and in what and all the other facts essential to an event report. I wrote up a page of notes each evening and was fairly awake with events - but I can't recall everything - especially the more specific details on the 8thAF units and so on. I DID snap the memorials and an awful of vehicles. I would also like include stuff on the poor souls who didn't make it So come on you lot, do my job for me.... Ta, Mark
  7. Hey Joris - you made it home!!!! good......... Fantastic vids and pix from Lee and Zoomer Phil........ I'll post some soon. Got to start writing it up... Can anyone remember where we went and who we met? Who am I??
  8. Jack - you can counter this with the truth behind your mate and how he has given you healing hands... how else would I have got my fish and chips and a rendezvous with the pick-up in Framlingham (by pick-up I mean the ladies going by truck from the pub to the dance). Jack IS the fourth emergency service.
  9. Totally agree. It was the best event I've ever been at. Don't know how we could do an appropriate sort of event for PW motors - especially one like mine, but Bolero made me want to move on to something older.
  10. Lawson - here is my one and only tip for GMC owners. The truck runs on petrol. Ask Jack - he is an expert.
  11. Greetings one and all, A big note of thanks to Paul Marriott, Sally, Clive Stevens, Suzanne, Richard R Cubed and Rosemary, The Beckett roadshow (God help us), Joris and Dorein (if I've spelled it wrong I'm sorry), Lee and Harry, Simon Morris, Dave 'Hinesy', Phil Benham and family, Tom and Ed Abbott and the lady with Jed the dog whose name I never got, the Lindsays from Blackpool, the guys from Nth Wales - hardened criminals smoking in a public place after midnight on July 1! The guys from Whitby, Richard Taylor, Neil Stevens, Phil Zoomer Royal, Angie and her husband with the staff car - always dapper and great dancers, Jesse The Jeep and his oppo - the Carrs of course - brilliant pix mate, Chicago George - who is not from Texas, but funnily enough, is from....Chicago. Maurice for flying the Mustang, the nice people who flew in the Stearman, Malcolm - get ready for Beltring, the nice lady keen to see my photos, I'll send you the cheque soon, OK? The WC63 chaps (both motors), The brilliant motorcycle escorts - essential to the success of the whole enterprise; everyone at Hardwick for the welcome and also at Thorpe Abbotts...and everyone who came along. 60 odd motors on the road - it was awsome - I hate the way the word is bandied about for zilch these days - but this was awsome. Thank you all so very much...... sorry if I forgot anyone. Can we do it again Clive and Ed??????????????????????????????
  12. Tugger, your mate and I were standing next to each other when we snapped the kids. They were very enthusiastic! I've sorted all my duff pix - and have to begin getting a package ready for CMV. I'll start posting on here as soon as possible. I've got about a thousand. Some are actually in focus!!!
  13. David, did we meet? I met so many people my brain is fried. I'm sure we did. Glad you had a great time. The organisation was superb - except for the burger van at Horham....nuff said.
  14. Really sad you lads didn't make it. I don't want to make the pain any worse for you at this juncture. But you did miss what I feel is the best event I've ever attended, even though Jack came, too.
  15. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you're all in one piece Bodger. I've just got most of the car packed and cameras sorted(ish) - one needs cleaning and is driving me nuts. Thank heaven for fotoshop. No point in wasting money on it pre Beltring..with all the heat and dust. How big is your tent Joris? Got room for a slim chappy??
  16. Welcome to the jungle. Lots of effort went into getting you logged on to this forum. In view of this you will have to clean the clubhouse loos until Christmas. But, you still get the dancing girls, once they have finished their record breaking run at the Locarno ballroom Bergen-Op-Zoom. Lee will drop them round after he's finished with them.... Snapper
  17. The only thing the wrong side of 40 is the speed camera by SA Farm in Hadleigh. You know it. I hate it. Happy birthday for yesterday, dude.
  18. Amazing - worth some snaps, if he'll let you. But they sound beyond hope. What a shame.... This stuff can still be found, then.....but not in downtown Southend methinks.... MB
  19. I think having Richard's considered response to the original question is worth the wait. I can see that John is...., I can't put words or thoughts in his mouth; so my assessment is...skeptical - (we've never met beyond a wave from his valentine turret ). But this has been a long running mystery/saga/wound - call it what you will. I am not the sharpest of moderators on this forum by any means - but I think a pause is needed. You blokes have the best of intentions at heart and agree that a balanced look at this is best for everyone. So over to you, Richard. I feel my duty is to act with conciliation at heart. End of lecture.
  20. We'll look forward to seeing you for the HMVF knees ups......Look out for a very smart 2004 Toyota Corolla Verso. It will be parked with the PW Mufti Club fleet - not to be ignored, we have some genuine non-classics...
