  1. Cool. Nice to put a face to a username!! I've been sorting out a mass of pix for Rex C - It's amazing how much I have. Only a fraction ever appears in print - so much more may end up on HMVF.....or both. You have been warned....... Mark
  2. My Iltis will fall apart all by itself, thank you very much....Thinking about it - I need to delete all these references when the time comes to sell it..... Remember what the great Canadian military vehicle guru Neil Young said on his eponymous tank restoration inspired double live album of 1979 - he told us "Rust Never Sleeps" Clever, those Canadians. He also said "it's better to burn than it is to rust". This comment must surely apply to GMC owners....for some reason the comment was acredited to Triumph TR7s and anything made in Italy. But we now know he was referring to green machines. Poptastic great mates...
  3. Good news. The more the merrier. Looking forward to meeting you all. BTW, Clive asked Jack for my phone numbers - but I haven't heard from him . I need to find out where the press lounge is (I think I will be driving it there - AND the cd player is broken!!). See you Friday AM (before then I have work and tonight is Stryker James' first gig with a band of hopefulls in sunny Southend. He is the bass player and from knowledge this is a cool place to be).
  4. The H is definitely recuired. I've snapped an LR with it applied before, belongs to a chap in Essex MVT. He had it on the doors. MB
  5. Bugger - I'll have to read the manual to suss out the time delay mode....
  6. Deffo, I would be grateful for a bit of space for snapping. I've said enough about this already... see you there! MB
  7. Jack, wearing a frock will not get you into the dance. It might, however, get you into the papers.
  8. You could always go camping with friends and enrich your relationships!! Friday kicks off at 1000. Saturday at 0730. Sunday is later - between 1030 and Noon I think. The campsite HQ etc is at Parham. Up the A12 from Ipswich. The dance is an all ticket affair - see also the post on Framlingham. Joris is bringing Dutch beer. Jack is bringing the pink cushion. Lee is bringing a PW van and I am bringing a PW Toyota. Things could get messy.
  9. So, let me get this right. Me, Bodge, Jack, Joris, Lee and a few beloved chums/family/outlaws will be there. Phil Zoomer Royal says he will be with us on Saturday. This is a good thing. I was going to have Stryker James with me on Sat/Sun but the chauffuer has buggered orf to Croatia. If he comes back without an M36 I shall be very peaved. If I've missed anyone out of this list it is because I have always traded fast and loose with facts. Ask the wife. Better still, don't...
  10. Is it still held in Norman Park??? I thought it had been wound up. I remember when it was a HUGE event. Only been once in 1992. I was more into cars then...never mind. Congratulations on your awards lads....
  11. This is like Hollyoaks with tanks. Thank Heaven for quieter areas on the forum. Nice tank, though. Having lost the plot I shall go and look for a new one. Welcome aboard Zoe. You obviously know the odd loon on this forum already. This does not give you automatic right to put your feet on the sofa (when wearing boots), own a pink cushion (there can be only one) or play Load music in the clubhouse. For the sake of accuracy, Load music is peculiar to Dorset and is best heard from a very great distance away. GMC owners from Dorset are prone to liking Load Music... It involves a fair amount of wailing and yodelling to a backing track of bad British heavy metal or all Dorothy Squires music . Serious lovers of Load Music will also be at home singing along to Anthony Newley and the soundtrack of Dr Doolittle. Lovers of LOUD music are a wholly different breed. You have been warned.
  12. We will be having a party then. I love tea. Gallons of it. I also like beer. Food is also nice. So a run into Framlingham for some sort of takeaway frenzy may be worthwhile before the ring pulls go mental. I am so looking forward to this...and....I'm working! Hahahahahahaha. Sometimes it is good to be me. MB
  13. Sorry Mark - I am sure I haven't. Really sorry.....
  14. I'm not convinced any of this adversely effects W & P. I'm no expert and I'm not party to any inside info, but I think the chalet/lodge/huts will be away from W&P's traditional sites and the climbing thing will be either closed of built in around the show. You know how it is, there are those who say it is too big and if it shrinks, there will be complaints it has downsized. Nothing lasts forever. I'm prepared to make hay while the sun shines....
  15. Hope you liked that lot.....more soon as and when time allows..
