  1. Hi Jack, Recently some of the photos on WHO have not been opening, is this a problem at your end or mine? I usually view WHO on my I pad.
  2. I won't be able to get any photos of it until next week, but I will do my best to get some photos posted.
  3. Sorry Adrian, but the date is still not set. Neil hasn't organised an auctioneer yet, as soon as I know the date I will post it on here.
  4. Here's a photo of 2of the 101s including the ambulance, there are almost 100 Land-Rovers in the auction including Series 1, 2 & 3, Series 3 lightweights, 101s, 90s, 110s and a genuine Series 2 Pink Panther (10 FG 88). Are there any particular ones that you want photos of?
  5. Not exactly, I was standing on the bonnet of a series 3 that is next to the series 3 ambulance. I think the ambulance has been converted to a camper at some time, as it has been repainted and is covered in mountain biking stickers. There is also a 101 ambulance in the auction, but it will need quite a bit of work.
  6. Thanks for that Clive, did you notice that it was the rare turbo version?
  7. While tidying Neil's yard in readiness for the auction I found this Humber Pig almost consumed by brambles. When I uncovered it I found these strange brackets on the sides and doors. This is allegedly a Mk1 ambulance version that has not been up-armoured, you can see traces of the Red Cross and the hooks for the original canvas roof in the third photo. Does anyone have any idea what the brackets were for? The army registration number was overpainted with Matt black paint, all I can make of it is _1 _K 6_.

    Withams

If you are wanting a Foden recovery try Dave Crouch, I tried Withams when I was wanting to buy a Leyland Daf 4 tonner, I couldn't get a straight answer from them when I was asking the price. I went to Dave Crouch who had sensible prices and would do an 'on the road' package, paid a deposit and a couple of weeks later paid the rest and drove it home.
  9. We enter our Leyland Daf in local carnivals to promote the 'Lacock at War' show.
  10. 22.5 tyres are tubeless and would require new rims, the rims on all military Bedfords are 3 piece tube type.
  11. 1200x20 is a standard size which is why most manufacturers offer them, dropping down to 1100 x20 will lower the gearing resulting in a lower top speed. Michelin do a 365/80x20 which is only 25mm smaller in diameter to a 1200x20.
  12. The auction date has not been set yet, we are still cataloging the lots, there are 2 large sheds full of spares as well as the vehicles. There will be a couple of viewing days before the auction, I will post the dates as soon as I know them. John
  13. Neil does have the remains of a Dorchester, I haven't seen it but some of the yard is very overgrown. It should be in the auction as it isn't on his list of things to keep.
  14. Martyn, why not try the Gloster regiment museum in Gloucester, it has recently been refurbished, and as the Glosters fought valiantly in Korea they have a lot of information there.
  15. Best of luck with the project, I've only seen 1 complete RSO in the Armoury museum in Vienna.
  16. I haven't seen any, Bob but he has 2 large sheds full of spares I won't find out what's in there until nearer the auction date when we start sorting through them.
  17. Photos that hat were attached to previous post, sorry, but I'm a bit of a novice at attaching photos.
  18. I've just tried reposting the photos, now I can't select the ones I want to post!
  19. Yes it is Richard, they were built for Duxford by Lion Cars who also built half sized buses. It has Mini engine & gearbox mounted longitudinally driving Bedford HA van axles, the front axle pivots on the dif, no Ackerman steering!
  20. I've just seen it on Milweb, with the Sexton & 2 Comets!
  21. I took mine round to the local auto electrics specialist they replaced the bearings at a very reasonable cost
