  8. Some more pics of the transmission strip down . you can see the damage to the bottom shoe cheers for looking
  9. if you crawl under the front you will find 2 brass bungs that have a 5/8 th (i think could be 9/16) alan key socket remove them and you can acsess engine and gearbox oil oil drains and then nearer the front is either a oval plate or another bung which gives accsess to steering box oil .beware that your hull will more as likely be full of water/oil mix so keep your head out the way when you open the bungs . antifreeze can be drained via a brass tap which can be found thru front steering box hatch, down near drivers side engine mount. hydrolic fan oil is a pack out job . to be honest if you are stripping for spares remove the pack anyway to remove starter and other useful parts and then drain fluids . hope this helps Iain p.s i have assumed you have a k60 multifuel pack !!!

  19. Happy xmas everybody having got the usual festivities and gluttonous eating and drinking done i have finally got round to updating this threrad . We put the sherman build on hold at the end of october so we could concentrate on getting the working vehicles we use for the customers thru the workshop 15 FV432's serviced repainted ,ferret ,2 x bedfords and a hagglund bv206 all sorted in record time ,we managed to get some more work on the sherman in december . The suspension is in reasonable order, bearings were good but springs, seals and anything rubber was in a bad way nitro hard at it with the needle gun the state of the bearings and internal sleaves after 30 yrs on a molotov cocktail range now for a bit of paint New old stock springs fitted at this stage n.o.s tyres pressed on bit of a game with that the company we used made a hash of the job on the first one but got it sorted on the rest . also new seal sorced from a firm in leicester bearings cleaned and everything refittedto wheels . thanks for looking only another 5 to go .

  21. linkage problem for sure as andy says. Should be a 15 min fix remove piano covers , disonnect gear selector rod at g/box end. make sure you get all the gears by hand, adjust rod for reverse with engine off, check, re connect ,re panel off you go .. some times you may have to remove selector rod completely and use a suitable fixed point to straighten bend etc i find a good unf KNEE works to avoid cables Iain
