  1. Is it some form of decontamination device?
  2. Prepare to be mobbed :-D I'd love a ride in either, but all I can offer in return is a series 3 landrover-not quiet on the same scale
  3. Marcus Glenn do a 100 Ah battery of about the same size, they are new, and come with a 2 year guarantee. for about £60 each, Or you could ask in somewhere like Costco-they always seem quiet cheap for batteries(they might have to order them though) http://www.marcusglenn.com/index2.html
  4. I can't remember my log in for you tube, But allowing for what you called the bloke, and some of the places some idiot's stick fireworks,. I'm not sure I want to see. :-o Is it really such a bad thing if people with so little common sense remove themselves from the gene pool?
  5. Great photo's! Show them to as many idiot's with no common sense as you can! But don't automatically assume all of us are idiot's. For example, in the case of the mortar, the fact it was a quick or slow fuse is irrelevant. The first and most obvious rule is that you never put yourself in the line of fire. Even is the fuse isn't lit, or if you think the gun isn't loaded. It's common sense, that even a slow fuse can malfunction and burn too fast. So harsh as it might sound, anybody leaning over the barrel of a mortar (particularly while their trying to light it) get all they deserve in my book! Just out of interest, were the lost hand's down to genuine accident's, or due to some moron holding a powerfull banger to prove how hard they were?
  6. I would like to thank all the do-gooders on here that have warned us that these exploding thing's are dangerous, Cos the rest of us are obviously too bloody stupid to realise that You're not health and safety/state the bleedin obvious officers are you? :police: It's that type of attitude that's completely ruined this country, let people learn from their own mistakes-sure the stupid might get hurt, but believe it or not, there's been thousand's if not millions of people with the minimum amount of common sense required to set of firework's, use chemicals and hundred's of other thing's that have now been banned or restricted because some bloody liberal think's we can't handle! It's attitudes like this that mean I can't fire target pistol, buy any decent pyrotechnics and a 101 other thing's that are perfectly safe, if you apply a bit of common sense (something that more of us have got than you seem to think). Rant over :argh: (for now)
  7. As nobody else is in the mood to be pedantic:- 1. What was the date of the British shots of World War? Answer-there is no specific date, as british shot's were fired throuought the whole war! (and I like to think were faster and more accutate than any other nation's shot's :-D)
  8. I'm afraid I'll have to stop this for health and safety reason's, If Dasher, dancer, prancer, vixen donner and blizen are going on, and comet and cupid are going up, there could be a serious accident! Your friendly neighbourhood health and safety officer Mr B'stard :-)
  9. There's Kaufman's army and navy at 319 west 42ND St if your down that way, they claim to have supplied the original uniform's for sargeant Bilko.. I only found it cos we passed it on the way down to the aircraft carrier museum..
  10. Jack- I agree with the last poster, medal's should only be worn by those who earn then. I've never served, but from reading the relevant post's on ARRSE, most ex and serving soldiers seem to feel the same way as well. I've got the feeling from a few of your post's, that although you like dressing up, and driving around in your green truck, you haven't done much research into the psychology and phraseology of the average solider (British or American). A trawl through a few of the army websites (ARRSE being a prime example) gives a good idea of how real soldiers feel about issues such as these. I really think anyone in our hobby should try to get into the head's or real soldiers, before doing anything that might "annoy" the men and women we owe so much.
  11. Maybe one way to get around the problem, is to"WALT" up your post war vehicle to look like the wartime one it "evolved" from wartime one-you'd get invited that way
  12. I seem to recognise that :-D I won't cross the line of actually saying what it is yet though.
  13. Check:- http://www.arrse.co.uk/wiki/Category:Army_Slang A man in your position should know the slang (I've never served, but some of the slang is great!)
  14. Rule 2 is to suggest the client has got a virus from looking at dirty pictures, and that's caused their problem :-D
  15. Is it a power lead that clip's onto something (center brass looking thing for +ve, and the 2 outer metal band's for -ve) A lamp maybe?
  16. Jack-I know I don't know you, but I'm intrigued to know how you came to name your daughter after a Scottish meat pie  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bridie
  17. Well they say laughter is the best cure-and that description made me laugh :-D Remember to milk it for all it's worth-the whiskey and hot water bottles are a good start
  18. ] What gun's have you got in mind for the old spec please?
  19. Is it some form of Infra red transmitter, to pass guidance information to the rocket, while it's in flight? :?
  20. It was a bit pricey , but I figured that I could end up spending a packet for all the bit's that came with this one already (and it hasn't been drilled or cut to fit any non original kit in). And thank's to Clive, I've got a lovely list of EMER's and user handbook's to look out for - I do love manual's
