  1. I can remember in the 80,s we even had all yellow landrovers and lorries and machinery and anything else airfield use related at Lyneham. Not all vehicles but some of them Christian
  2. I used various lightweights from 83 to 2005 for work and pleasure:sweat:Then I saw the light and bought a Pajero for everyday use:-D alot cheaper:iloveyou: Christian
  3. one for sale here:-D http://www.hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?t=14605
  4. Its because its armour of the 2nd cat whatever that is for the French not that it makes a difference for papers, The amount of vehicles around here civil and military is incredible because papers / carte grise cannot be got from the prefecture and old vehicles need to be scrapped to be world friendly! As for moving the vehicle to the UK as suggested how would that work as I have been following the taking vehicles abroad thread with interest. Christian
  5. Hello All:cool2: Im looking for some advice and hopefully someone can help. Here in France my friend has a WWII Daimler Dingo which was bought from a dealer some 18 years ago. unfortunatley said French (dodgy) dealer :stop:never supplied the original paperwork so we are now stuck for selling it. Is there a solution to this other than breaking the vehicle for spares:(. This vehicle is a complete running vehicle so its a shame to break it. Any help/ ideas welcome Christian PS :cool2:whats a Dingo worth nowdays with paperwork to sell it:idea: and if anyone is interested get intouch:iloveyou:
  6. Hello Mark I have been dealing with Vladimir quite a bit recently, He is very good and honest BUT............. very slow on replying to E mails so dont worry he will get back to you. The other day it took 2 weeks to get a reply and my parts i ordered arrived before he replied to my mail! excellent service. Christian
  7. Keeping the thread off topic for thr moment:-D In France any trailor over 750kgs has its own vehicle log book and test:stop: and even better if you tow a trailor over 750kgs you need another driving test and a letter on your license. Of course you have to pay for this:tup::Nicolas and the French government:cool2: Christian

I saw the jeep on Ebay 2 days ago didnt have time to post it here. But the interesting thing is you get the jeep but:confused:........... :stop:no number plate and no props/ items on the jeep!!! which makes it an expensive 4x4:argh: so should not even be advertised as a mock sas jeep as there is no props on it. There was a mock SAS 109 on there this week which did look quite good but at £10,000 was alot expensive i think:cool2: Christian
  10. Hi there Ive been living in the Vienne 86 and bought and sold quite alot of houses here having bought wrecks to do up and sell on. In 3 of these houses we have had bread ovens and found ammunition and weapons hidden in the earth on top of them. the last house I did I had the Gendarmerie around twice a day for a week to remove certain items found. The bread ovens were ideal because they were dry and for some reason the Germans never searched them. About 75metres from the house there was a small bank on the edge of a farmers field which is rumoured to have the larger weapons hidden. I never got around to digging it and the French EOD team didnt bother about it either as its in the countryside and covered in brambles. The history of the last house was in the war it belonged to the local Mayor and in the roof space was a rifle range training camp for the local maquis. Down the road was a wireless station, first time i visited there in the early 90,s it was full of mortar rounds, weapons and a couple of jeeps being kept by an old guy who was saving it until the allies came back for it!!!! sadly when i went there 2 years ago the old man was still very much alive but a couple of brits had gone there posing as officals and removed everything military and collectable for free! In my area there are plenty of stories from the locals and evidence of battles, and plenty of objects to be found( if you look hard enough) Christian
  11. Very nice fire truck had to look it up on google!, heres a link to the details on them. http://www.iacservices.co.uk/landrover/s3fc/liamsfireenginepage.htm Chris
  12. Nice photos Mark, Whats with the RAF lightweight in the 2nd to last photo? light setup and the bridge plate 35? Christian
  13. That looks very nice, even the colour..... ere you got a blue light:stop: to go round impersonating the national health/ambulance service:-D Chris
  14. AH I forgot Vladimir Lehar, we just bought some excellent quality parts for the Kett. I can recomend him for his good service.
  15. Ive been usung a couple of companies in the CZ republic for parts recently for an original kettenkrad. This is another one we have used in the past for kubel et schwimvagen parts. Body and mechanical. http://www.kdf.cz/ their price is reasonable. Chris
  16. Raf St Athan and i think it dates from the 90.s because i dont remember it in the 80.s:) And we didnt used to talk about the H and S thing! Chris
  17. When I was based at RAF lyneham in the 80,s some of the 4tonners had them and I think all the 8 tonners were fitted but we never used them. As for the 3 ton cl,s i cant remember, but i think the newer models were fitted with them. Chris
  18. This H1 has bugged me for the last couple of years,as its marked up with RAF markings. And has a full compliment of Britis weapons. I have been unable to find the owner to explain something about it...... I think this one in RAF markings could have been used at Greenham Common by the 501 RAF Regt. as it is on a B plate year 1985. But it would not have had the Arab marked stay back boards on it!!. Chris
  19. Just an update..... Finally started recieving the parts from the CZ Republic, excellent service from the 2 sources which are Lehar military vehicles and SKZ. With all our worries about if we would get the parts or lost in transit it did not happen. Vladimir Lehar sent our parts off before even asking for the money so we recieved them before even paying! excellent service. went to send him the money which the bank could not do straight away!! his address is in the CZ Rep but the bank was in Germany 500kms away. And great service from Michal at SKZ who sent us our parts of very high quality. many thanks to him even got a free engine grill. I must get around to putting some photos up sometime of the restoration. Christian
  20. I sent my order off last week So now I need to wait, hopefully the parts will arrive this week. As for Beltring i will miss it this year. Christian
  21. I have thought of that, as it is only a 2600km round trip with fuel costs of about 350 euros plus my time spent going there. Which is i think is better than loosing 8000 euros of goods or money. I have never had a prob buying off the internet before and paying transport, but the problem here is vehicle parts that are hard to find in the first place and getting lost in transit.. if they were ever sent! and loosing the money. Christian
  22. Hi there all that is interested........ I finally got a positive reply back from the CZ Rep about parts for the Kett. But a question to you all:sweat: Do I send money before receiving goods or good old C.O.D. if it existed with the CZ republic? Because its expensive items being ordered im not too sure what to do, the guy has sent me his bank details and i think he is expecting me to send money first. what normally happens when ordering abroad/overseas? Christian
  23. I have seen them in the surplus stores aroud our area in the Vienne 86, just north of Bdx I think they were German or French surplus but I dont think they were of WW11 origin. Christian
  24. Hi there everyone:) Just a quick update....
