Dead easy to find when you tap in 94400 Vitry, which is the French town. I didnt realise Beke was the name of the company.
The photos shown on this thread in the woods, are they at the same location?
I see on milweb they are closing for 2010 is that retirement or the French laws about scrapyards that have brought on closure?
Christian
Anyone got a correct address for this place as i put Beke in the route planner and it came up with nothing.
I wouldnt mind going up and taking a few photos of this place before history is lost.

Another thing to consider is the tow hitch fitted to your vehicle. Ive just changed mine on a Renault Master van to a heavy duty one because the standard one was a 750kg hitch!

Welcome to the forum......
I lived in cricklade st, there was a bar 5 mins walk away the waggon and horses, many a slurp was had there and then off to Brize or Lyneham with the hangover in the morning!
Ive towed a lightweight on a twin axeled trailer behind a volvo 850 with no problems, also did a jeep once behind a BMW 320i same twin axeled trailer but that was a bit hairy as the towing vehicle was too light. But we recovered a jeep stranded 150kms away without breaking anything!
Twin axle trailers are far better if you can get one because it wont bounce around so much on the back of the towing vehicle.

A couple of sites of interest for you city slickers who dont know where dartmoor is:cool2:
http://www.dartmoor-ranges.co.uk/index.html
http://www.dartmoor-rescue.org/

Its an old base and still used. ive used it lots of times for a mountain rescue training base and for deployments. The Ten Tors is run from there and The military use it as a main base on Dartmoor and there is a big debate about the Army staying on the moors.
Christian
It was an open weekend 12/13 sept put on by the Army with other activities like wall climbing and a model expo, I will dig some more photos out later.

He laughed so much I got locked up for 24 hours it was a Sunday and i was coming back to the UK in a Civvie plated car. My boss was fuming the next day late for work and war practice!
Ive never had a problem with immigration, but customs freaked out once with an NBC suit and various other bits of kit in a car which were only for work purposes!
