  1. This is the correct tail pipe for yours: https://www.thexmod.com/item_detail.asp?id=12647&t=Pipe_Exhaust_Tail_Pipe_FV839432 it should point out parallel to the ground.
  2. Think of the cost savings if we could get away with hollow cables everywhere...
  3. That mount is only of any use to you if you want to mount a Bren. There is a similar one for a GPMG. If you want to mount anything else you'll need to either make one up or find out what vehicle that kind of gun might have been mounted on and investigate what mounts exist.
  4. Are you sure they are sealed beam units? Undo the clips and have a look. They should be standard 7” headlamp units as fitted to Land Rover Etc.
  5. Malcolm, the diesel gearbox has a different input module with different gearing. Chris
  6. Usually the gun that’s meant to be there. You need some drain pipe.
  7. Looks like I’m sorted thanks to someone on Facebook.
  8. Annoyingly I broke a middle ring while replacing the piston rings on the GPW engine. I put it in the piston ring pliers and it broke in half before I had even stretched it over the piston. All other rings went on fine. I don’t want to buy a complete set if I can help it. Can anyone suggest a source for a single piston set, or has anyone done the same as me and now has some spares? Thanks in advance! Chris
  9. Do you have a parts list? Try looking up the part number on thexmod.com
  10. Perhaps a copy of the parts book and or user manual might aid understanding? As Richard says, the engines are the same. We swapped a T engine to a W engine for our Fox, as have many others. If you need a crank shaft fan drive flange I might be able to help.
  11. The headlamp unit is common to many vehicles, there are plenty on eBay in the UK. The lamp itself is also a standard item, look for a Land Rover or mini 7” headlamp without sidelight. Just replace the bulb with a 24v one. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F273228519891
  12. I think if it hasn’t caused enough issues to be replaced with something else in 40+ years of service then it’s probably not a problem?
  13. Think you’re right, bolts through the rope hooks, screws in the loops.
  14. I’m sure when we did our Bedford that they were just held on with self tapping screws. No need for nuts or washers.
  15. I appreciate its your vehicle and you can do what you want with it, but please try and keep everything you remove and don’t do anything which can’t be reveresed. What you’re doing will knock most of the value off the vehicle and make it much more difficult to sell when the time comes. It will be easier for the next guy if you’ve kept everything.
  16. We’ll be there, booked in 2 CVRTs as usual. Chris
  17. Hi Andy, will do, thanks. Chris
  18. I’m looking for someone who can restore a Jeep tub for me. It needs a new rear panel, some work to the floor etc. I don’t have time to get it done myself and ideally looking for someone who has done one before and knows what they are doing. Any recommendations? Thanks, Chris
  19. The other thing to remember about the diesel conversion is that there are around 200 other parts that need changing. There are holes to drill and cut, bulkheads to modify or replace and the whole engine deck is different. If you really wanted to do the conversion you’d almost need another vehicle as a donor, so you might as well buy the diesel to begin with.
  20. There should be 4 12 way cables in that corner and a 12 way 4 junction box.
  21. No ammo cans. The small green ‘boxes’ are batteries and charger for a 351 radio. Might have some photos somewhere. Wish you’d have asked earlier in the week when I had it out in the sunshine.
  22. There should be another junction box in that corner, a 12 way 3 or 4. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F222549077875 Do you have any manuals? If you don’t I’d suggest buying them.
  23. No, it should come off ok.
