This has been going on for years, most of the damage is caused by tractors, dirtbikes and mainly excessive use by all parties E.G. using them when wet and waterlogged, for instance the princable way a dritbike get traction is to dig down to firmmer ground rather than chugging along on the surface, yes some 4x4 users were/are less considerate etc to other users e.g. horserides and ramblers but it wasn't all of them and it takes 2 to tango. Yes it will be all green (brush or rolled on not sprayed) with Black Micky mouse camo on top, the markings on the door are from when it was civilanized (see begining of topic), still havent taken it on the road yet :roll: , sould be ready for Duxford :lol: . Tyler.

Havent done much at all lately on the K4 due to work on the SWB Landy. Moveable windscreen has been removed for minor refrubishment and paint prep. Most of the bodywork has been prepaired for paint. Exhaust fitted just minor tinkering to finish it. Discovered that one of the loadbed planking supports has turned into a compost like substance. The sum total of what was a 6Ft+ peice of wood. We always drive, on average we do 1000mls a year in each vehicle (dry or wet), the vehicles were built to be driven not sit stationary, Also you can either spend money on fixing you vehicle (due to lack of use), or you can spend the money on fuel and enjoy driving the vehicle. We almost always travel in a convoy for enjoyment and it being pratical to do so is just a bonus. As long as people enjoy their vehicles thats the main thing. Tyler.

Hi, the car tax part of the budget only applies to new cars bought out of showrooms, and the most tax you will pay on a Range Rover etc will be £210, hope this helps. Tyler.

Hi, the worst use of a vehicle as such was in Hanover Street, the B25 that Harrison Ford was filmed flying (filmed inside a real B25), well to make it possible to film inside the B25 they cut it in half with a chainsaw. The B25 in question was/is owned by IWM Duxford and was under restoration about 3/4 finished, and they were asked if it could be used for filming the interiour shots of the film, so Duxford kindly said yes, and when it was returned it was done so in 2 peices. This is a true story as a friend who worked at Duxford/on the B25 (until 1990) told me, he also said that Duxford was not paid for the damage :roll: , the B25 now hangs from the Americanair museum roof (in 1 peice). Part 3: Ive somehow managed to take over 210 pics already, I dread to think what the count will be once Ive finished :roll: All of the mechanical brake system has now been removed for refurbishment, I got fedup painting so I decided to start removing interiour items for refurbishment, and to ease access to other parts needing renovation E.T.C. Part 2: I am giving the whole thing 2 coats of Red Oxide, I decided to paint the gun mounts A, because I will be taking it to lots of shows so it will be out in all weathers, B, So should be more resistant to corrosion, C, Easier, cheeper and should give the same affect as Blueing them (If done right), I am spraying them to avoid brush strokes showing, Tyler.

Hi, here's an update, most of the work done recently has beeen based around the wheels and brakes so not alot to see, Inside the brake drum looks untouched since it was first built, all the bearings E.T.C. are fine, The brake cylinders look OK apart from some very slight perishing on the dust rubbers, but once the pads are removed we will Know for sure, Tyler.

Hi, Ive started on the body work recently, and the new exhaust has arrived, so insurance allowing it will have its first run since Ive had it this weekend :lol: , here are some pics: The loadbed drying ready for Oxide and paint. The exhaust being test fitted, it cost £100 from a local lorry shop, it is almost the same diamensions as the one that was removed, once the tail pipe is fitted you should'nt be able to tell I was quite supprised by how much detail was on the badge, but then it was hidden under 6 layers of paint.
