  3. Hi All, well its the penultimate evening before the draw for the name of the club, so any other names for the club before the draw at 7pm tomorrow? These are what have been suggested so far: Dirty Dozen EMVC = Eastern Military Vehicle Club. EMVG = Eastern Military Vehicle Group. MEGA's = middle eastern green and sand Eastern Bloc Heads EMMA = Eastern Military Machines Association Hi Mick, I would have thought a club/group the size of the MVT would have started a representative group for the Eastern areas by now if they thought there was enough intrest, but I will contact them and others for some advice. Thanks. Tyler.

    POA/

Hi all, I also think that most of the time the price can tell you alot about the condition of the MV, one of ArtistsRifles coments "I will not contact any ad that either has no price or says POA" made me realise that I also havent contacted a seller who puts no price or POA, I think I just subconsiously ignor them, Also as to Richard comment "I placed an ad last night on Milweb for the ZIL ( as of 10.45am today it's not on yet)" (its on the site by the way) Milweb seem to spell things differently for example I check all the spelling before I submit the Ad, and then when the Ad is put on the site is isn't spelt correctly, also I advertised some "Shorland spares" (that was the title) and when the Ad was put on the site and in the mag the title now says "Ferret and Shorland spares" now why Ithey did that I dont know, also not only was it wrong it ment people were phoning for Ferret spares I didn't have and wasting their too. The topic so far has bought up some interesting veiws. Thanks. Tyler.

    POA/

Hi, while I was looking though the classifieds in CMV/MMI over the last few months Ive noticed more and more Ads are stating POA or just no price at all, now personally this annoys me as: A, why not just tell prespective buyers the price, and B, if you do phone you find out the price anyway, In the classic car mags they hardly do it at all so why in Military mags, I was just wondering if anyone else had noticed this? Thanks. Tyler.
  6. Hi safariswing, yes its one of the one's from JPDeacts, the one pictured was sold about 18 months ago but the bloke hasen't picked it up yet, I saw them advertised in the back of Gun Mart for about a year before I bought mine last March before he started to advertise them on Milweb, John Price was telling me how people in Holland, Germany, Ireland and America were buying them off him without even seing a pic, they only made 1000, they are massive compared to the Quad 0.50cal, it may be worth giving John a ring you never know  . He's had two or three batches I know of so try giving him a ring, he's a very nice bloke. Thanks. Tyler.
  7. Hi, I have a 1950's Ural motorcycle and sidecar combo which was used in the series Band Of Brothers, it can with all the documents and one of the cast's Autograph (the man that played Capt Winters I think), I am restoring it at the moment "well its in bit anyway". Thanks. Tyler.
  8. Hi all, I'll be starting a restoration on my WW2 Quad 20mm Polsten traillered Anti Aircraft unit within the next 2 weeks, so as soon as its delivered I'll start work/posts on it. This is what it looks like and about the same condition too, Thanks. Tyler.
  9. Hi all, yeh I thought it would speed things up a bit, anyone can put names up for the club the more the welcome, so we'll have the draw Friday night. Thanks. Tyler.

    Austin K4

Hi, the very helpfull gentelman who I bought it off, while we were there said that someone was due to look at it today (Monday) and that he was going to civilianize it, so thats good that it wont happen now. Degsy I don't think I would have liked to man a Bren under those conditions, I think that anyone doing so would have made a very easy target. Tyler.

    BSA M20

Hi Rlangham, The biggest CC you can ride while under 21 is 125CC with a CBT (compulseary bike trainning) licence, you ride around a car park full of cones basicly, try looking on http://www.ebay.co.uk and http://www.milweb.net , there used to be quite a few for sale every month but now they dont seem to be many at all, the BSA M20 is 500cc by the way. Hope this helps. Tyler.
  12. Hi Steve, I knew I forgot something, I think they held aa air display there 2 or 3 years ago I dont know if they've done one that big since. Tyler.

    Austin K4

Hi, Rlangham unless I can find a British anti aircraft gun truck cab mount then no, apart from putting a load on the back, Mick no hopefully it will not impead on the Shorland, I was either going to have a Dodge 6x6 or the Austin K4 I chose the Austin over the Dodge purely because its British and I am glad I did. Thanks. Tyler.

    Austin K4

Hi, Ive bought it, Its 1944 Austin k4, RSK 187, LWB 5Ton flatbed/dropside with a 4Ltr straight 6 engine, the roof has the ability to have an Anti aircraft mount fitted, the dropsides need to be refurbished (new wood), the exhaust has a hole in the rear silencer, the sliding drivers windscreen needs renovating, new seat spings, and the handbrake needs adjusting, but apart from that its excellent condition and for £3000 thats not bad for a WW2 British Lorry, Its tax+MOT exempt, has a 4 speed Crash gearbox, built in tyre pump, its had a replacement engine at some point in its life, the original Reg number was EWW67 and it comes the original Steel number plate which was found under the seat. Someone has fitted a non standard tow bar and reat light units, all the bodywork is mint as is the rear loadbed wood and chassis, has original front lights (except indicators). it had been Civilianised after its DeMOB but the seller who I bought it off restored it back to its military spec. Here's a few pics, most were given to me buy the owner as well as a 1949 service manual, in all the excitement I had forgoten to charge the battery in the camera so the not very detailed pics, It will be delivered to our house asap as it would have taken 6hrs to drive back, we're based in Cambridgeshire and the K4 was based just across the boarded in Wales near Owestry so a wise choise I think. Here's the pics will post more once its arrived home. Civilianised: Remilitarised: Thanks. Tyler.

  20. Hi, blimey that one hell of a target for the enemy is'nt it  , "where's those marsh mallows when you want them". Tyler.
  21. Hi, I was wondering if anyone has any pics or info of Austin K4's in military service or post military service, also any website with info on this vehicle. Thanks. Tyler.
  22. Hi Rlangham, I went 2 years ago when they had the spluttering+stalling Tiger, I would say its most deffantly worth a visit/s, its proabley best to go on a non event day then you can take your time and get good photos. Hope this helps. Tyler.
  23. Hi, thanks for pointing out it was a SWB and not a 4x2 Degsy, by the way Degsy you dont know where you saw the pics of them towing bofors and polsten quads? As I havent found any wartime pics of Quad Polstens only pics of them for sale etc. Thanks. Tyler.
  24. Hi Marco, thanks for the pics, the truck with the Plosten on the back of it is based in the UK I think, the Quad polsten I have is huge compared to the single gun mount, do you know what the most a 4x2 GMC like the one at the top of your last post will tow? Thanks. Tyler.
  25. Hi, Don't worry found some pics I misstyped it the first time I did a search. Tyler.
