Unknown bracket

It either is, or looks very similar to, a "Stop Running Back" for an Abbot.

I have had quite a few Abbots and that is why I still have a bit of one.

It is a mechanical part that physically stops a gun running back from battery. If the run out press loses pressure, elevation can allow the gun to run back.

More a safety interlock really. It isn't fitted when the gun is in use.
