quick question my hotchkiss has a glass brake fluid reservoir fitted behind carb is this normal or has someone fitted it before my ownership the glass is breaking at the threads to screw lid on & off. or is it a remote reservoir someone has fitted for checking the level easier ! and also checking around the jeep ive found my brake lights are not working and all other electrics are fine am i right in thinking this is a common fault and its probally the brake light switch thats screwed into the master cylinder above the heatshield under jeep ! await answers , :undecided:

The pressure switch is mounted on the front of the master cylinder, ahead of the brake pipe fitting. A bit of a pain to get to and needing the brakes re-bleeding each time it is changed. I've had two switches fail, possibly due to the 24 volts running through the Hotchkiss system, rather than the original 6v. Mine doesn't have any secondary brake fluid tank, nor does any Willys or Ford I've seen, so I'm guessing it's been modded by a previous owner.
