I might be stupid but

 

Is my 109 a FFR or a CL?

 

She has a plate that reads

 

"Truck utility FFR 3/4 ton Land Rover Series 3"

 

Removable x member (but civvy rear x member)

Some bug eye lights

Used to have twin tanks with the switch over gear (po removed n/s tank)

Battery box in place of middle front seat

Looks like a standard 109 FFR. If it is 24 volt then it is FFR. If it it 12 volt it doesn't mean it's a CL, as there were standard 109 GS vehicles too. Those civi rear cross members were sometimes fitted in service, and quite often fitted after disposal.

Yes this is true. There was no Land Rover part for a miltary rear cross member. I know there are companies that make repro ones. But these would not be available to the MOD who could only use the Land Rover made civi one.
