  1. I have some new tube flaps up for grabs if needed, which go between the wheel and inner tubes.
  2. Ah! I found online a reference to Anton Vogt in the list of Nazi party Officials. I think it was scanned from a book Who's who in the Nazi Party.
  3. Anton Vogt seems to have been the district treasurer for Hemburg - Hohenzollern(?)m - MDR (Stell rertrender Gauheiter und Gausschatzmeister wu Hemburg. Any further translation greatly appreciated!
  4. Thanks for that Richard, just muddled through a bit of translation and it would seem that they are all sports certificates. After a google search it may be that the person in question, although I think there may be more than one person may have been jewish Hildegard Linnarz. Hildegard is surely a german female. The other writing/name on the other certificates is "I. Mannschaft Sp.Vgg 1867 Andernach" If anyone knows what that means I would be grateful! As for the highly gothic certificates I cant make out the first name, but surname appears to be Vogt. Any suggestions on the first name would be appreciated.
  5. I picked this photo and associated documents recently and wondered if anyone could tell me what they are? Thanks in advance. Plus they could be for sale if anyone is interested!
  6. Another one a mile up the road from me at Little Linford Lane near Newport Pagnell. http://www.thamesvalley.police.uk/newsevents/newsevents-pressreleases/newsevents-pressreleases-item.htm?id=291021
  7. Blimey! That's unexpected. I frequent the local auctions and it never ceases to amaze me as almost every week there are some WW1 medals, usually from distant relatives of the person they were issued to. A Death Plaque recently, still in the box with documents etc. I knew the bloke who bought it in and asked why he was selling it, apparently it was an uncle of his who he never knew thats why he was selling it. I would love to get hold of my Great Grandfathers medals and war plaque but no-one has ever seen them.
  8. How do you become a volunteer? Can anyone recommend a cost effective campsite nearby.
  9. So it's not a CD rack then that my other half wants me to build for her, to house her collection of Hey Nonny Nonny No folk Cd's...
  10. UPDATE Both Lancasters will be flying over and doing a circuit or two over the course of the weekend and hopefully a couple of WW1 war trucks will be present as well as the regular stars.
  11. Just been informed they are flying over my event at MK Museum late August! http://mkmuseum-1940sweekend.weebly.com/
  12. Well there is certainly one man who will never be forgotten. It was great doing some research on him, especially with the online help of others as well who were interested in the fact that a gravestone of a WW1 soldier was up for sale at the local auction. Perhaps we should have a section on here to help others/assist in research? I love doing this sort of thing.
  13. Im sure some pics have been posted on the Morris Commercial gallery I started years ago.
  14. One of my favourite vehicles, keep the pics coming!
  15. As in the first comment, I would much rather support the local shows, the last time I went to W&P I found the prices ridiculous. I did notice on this forum a lack of photos etc, the pics that were posted there didn't seem to be as many MVs in the background.
  16. I think that Champ in desert stone is my old one!
  17. If it is not acceptable to wear the medals of your ancestors on the right side during special occasions of remembrance how are we to remember them? They would remain in a box, in a drawer somewhere, maybe in frame on the wall. I like my children to wear their ancestors medals on their chest, they wear them with pride and it helps the young to appreciate the past, especially as they don't teach it at school.
  18. A growing event on the calendar in popularity is the 1940's weekend at Milton Keynes museum. Re-enactors and vehicle owners welcome. 1940's Radio will be there, daytime entertainment from Lola Lamour, traders stands, tea room and refreshments. An evening BBQ will be hosted for all those camping over the weekend. Lancaster flypast on the Sunday. Any queries please pm me. A great family friendly weekend. August 30th and 31st 2014 http://mkmuseum-1940sweekend.weebly.com/
  19. Yes, but given the lack of any quality tv Neil, you may want to form your own opinions!
  20. Is anyone going to Etreham campsite in Normandy in 2 weeks? I could do with a half track wheel being picked up and bought back to the UK, then I can sort out from there.
