Saying hello (before I start lurking)

Recommended Posts

Honesty...up front.

Mainly here to gather images and read some threads.

I run my own Forum, so I agree with the idea of introducing yourself first

especially if you don't plan on being a big contributor (to a forum).

And a little shameless self promotion never hurt either!

www.papermodelforum.com

I found this site while hunting for photos/research on the Saladin Armoured Car.

There is at least one thread documenting the restoration of a Saladin

that has already proven to be very helpful to my current project.

I design, build (and sell) Scale Paper Models. www.papermodelshop.com

Models built entirely of paper (cardstock).

My kits are available as a digital PDF file...you print out the Parts on standard sheets of Cardstock.

Cut out the parts with scissors and knife, glue and assemble.

I have many free models on my website, but papermodelshop.com is my online store.

Aircraft are my primary sellers...I have a couple of hundred kits in my store.

But I also do vehicles and other stuff.

Mainly just to support my hobby...it helps keep me in paper and ink!

I have also enjoyed creating some larger scale models that impress with their size.

1/12 and 1/16 scale stuff.

Although its a challenge creating a structurally sound design that is still easy to build.

My skills as a modeller are limited, so I try to design kits that beginners can handle.

My last big scale model was a 1/16 Centurion Tank.

Please take look at some photos here:

Before that, I did a large scale model of Little Willie (Lincoln Machine No.1)

and before that, a 1/16 WW1 Canadian Armoured Car

My latest project was a suggestion from a forum member.

I usually know little or nothing about my subjects, but I learn a lot while researching.

I am fascinated by more obscure subjects

and I like to pick a model subject that hasn't been tackled before. At least not, in paper model form.

I'm still in the early stages of design work on the Saladin.

If you are interested in the progress of my Saladin model, you can follow it here:
