The Solex 32PBIC carburetor has been used on many vehicles, like the Porsche 356, Hotchkiss M201 jeep and a load of other 1950's-60's cars. It has also commonly been fitted to MB/GPW jeeps to replace the original Carter, and repro's are still being made in India and sold by the usual parts dealers.
Recently I watched this video on Youtube and thought he had a good point:
In short, due to an error in the official French military rebuild manual (cause unknown) a small ball valve in the accelerator pump suddenly became a jet, and most if not all modern rebuild kits subsequently have a jet included now, not a valve. The rebuilt carb with the jet instead of the valve will work fine, but with a small flat spot during acceleration. It concerns part #32 in the diagram below:
