question Remove CCKW Gear stick

Hi,

Probably a silly question but is there an easy way of taking the gearstick of a CCKW gearbox to aid removing the engine/box as one unit without removing the top plate & selectors?

Hi the Gear stick goes in from the underneath so you will have to remove the top plate from the gear box. I've just repaired my gear lever ,it became to loose as the ball and socket had worn , it's the hardest job I've ever done on a GMC trying to get the spring back in.
