Walking wounded... On 3 legs that is...

Those here we've met at shows will probably recall our Dog Mk 5 - aka Toby.

Well - a few weeks ago he started limping in one hind leg and a vet diagnosed arthritis and some tablets. Seemed to work then it all started up again so took him back and the senior vet immediately diagnosed a torn Cruciatus Ligament in the knee. This meant operation time so he went in last week for the op. Now he has a £2,500 tiitanium knee - and a large shaved patch in the long hair!!!

He's getting back to normal now - by the time show season gets up and running - he should be too!!! :)

Now to hope the insurance settles OK and quickly!!!

Know the problem. We had a young springer which had the same problem. What made things worse, the vet did the WRONG leg! So the dog then had both back legs u/s. My wife is not the type to get upset, she is a nurse. But I have never seen the vet so scared, when he told us he had done the wrong leg. The spinger is now fine, and thorwing it'self around like normal.

Thanks mate!!

He should be back up to full steam for W&P - and one member of the AMVG will be dreading this as he called Toby over the other year from a fair distance and by the time Toby arrived he was going too fast to stop and impacted him straight in the sensitive parts. Probably - from a watchers viewpoint - one of the funniest things seen for ages!!
