Kuno
And the German planes are at first a Ju.87 "Stuka" and then a Ju.88. Thought I had seen these pics already elsewhere in the net... ?
AndyFowler
I don't think you have seen them before as I have scanned them from my Great Uncles photo album and it is unlikely they have been put on the net by him ! Of course someone else may have photographed them at the time they where passing ! It would be nice to see them if you can find them ! Kuno
About the pic of the Ju.88 I am quite sure. Might be that the same wreckage has been photographed by several passing soldiers...
79x100
Did the British ever share or sell photos on any scale, in the same way that the Germans seemed to, for instance after the fall of France ? It seems to have been common practice at that time to buy a pack of souvenir photographic reproductions. I bought a fairly unremarkable period photo that appears genuine of wreckage at De Panne and was surprised to find the identical shot in a French book. Kuno
They obviously did. I know about may LRDG-photos you can find in several troopers albums.
6 X 6
Andy, these aircraft recovery photographs are really wonderful. As you may know, I'm very partial to the 'Queen Mary' trailer and seeing these pictures has been a real treat for me. Many thanks for sticking them on here. Cheers.
