Bodger Baz
OK you lot need some assistance on this one; The Bedford OXC has a vacuum servo/actuator for the trailer brakes, unfortunately once stripped down the metal has suffered very badly over the years and is full of cracks! its looks like the it has become porous and then swelled up! The unit is a Dewandre Type S2/175 Series GA1295A/1 S4707 No. 2375 I need to know whether there are any of these units still around taking up room in someones shed? or if there are any more modern replacement units available? ArtistsRifles
I believe Dewandre are still going so you might have some luck talking to your local HGV parts supplier. Alternatively try here: http://www.allspares.co.uk/index.htm

Tony B
Try pastparts, if they can't find they may be able to rebuild. did a fantastic job on a QL master cylinder. http://www.pastparts.co.uk/

Tony B
Modification of system sounds the only answer. Have you room to put in a Landy servo or such like? I know that is screaming terror territory, but the vehicle is still on the road.

I know that is screaming terror territory, but the vehicle is still on the road. The servo in question is purely vacuum actuator to pull the trailer brakes on, its not used for the main brakes on the traqctor unit and does not have a master or slave cylinder attached. Its operated by a valve on the master cylinder that allow vacuum to pass into this cylinder when the pedal is pressed, then the piston moves pulling on the rod operated trailer brakes! there is plenty of room to fit newer unit if that what it come down to, needs must and all that.
