Rlangham
This is my first attempt at a trench sign for the Old Contemptibles display. Pleased with the outcome, i'll be making a few more signs for the OC's display, plus if anyone else wants some making i'd be happy to oblige for a reasonable price For those that don't know the significance of Filbert Street, it's where the Leicester City Football Club ground was from 1891 up until 2002

Tony B
Just right mate:-D After all they were any old timber and whitewash. But bear in mind you would have had all sorts of trades, including sign writers and decorators so some signs were proffesionally made. With so many trenches and always changing such signs were essential.
Great War truck
One of the strangest signs i saw a photo of was "Cannabis Street" in PAsscehdale. I was quite suprised. Tim (too)

Great War truck
Here is a genuine? WW1 sign up for sale on E Bay. The unit is the armoured Autocar MG Btn which i wrote about in MMI last year. I expect it will end up in a museum. Probably best place really. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=200225613399&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=
