Davie
I found these winged things when I rubbed down my 110 a couple of years ago. Does anyone know what they represent? There was also a yellow diamond with a black key painted on the rear of the land rover. The 110 had probably served in Bosnia, possibly with the RAF. Apart from that, I know nothing. I'd be dead chuffed if anyone can come up with the answer. Davie.

fv1609
Presumably it represents a dove of peace being part of IFOR?
Rick W
Looks a bit too Austro-Hungarian to be a dove!

Davie
That's excellent Adam, Thanks very much for the info. Do you know what the yellow diamond represents? Davie.
da bomb
Not 100% sure what the Yellow diamond with key symbol is, probably a Flight within 2 Sqn. 2 Sqn was historically an Armoured Car squadron (Rolls Royce armoured cars, for airfield defence etc), so might have some throwback meaning to that. Davie
Cheers for that. It's a pity that 110 is no longer with me after letting the wife drive it earlier this year.
snowtracdave
Ouch......... What did the other bloke look like ??
Davie
It was a woman and two small kids in a renault scenic. The renault disintegrated, plastic and fibreglass every where. Thankfully they were not hurt at all. We found out later the renault has a very high safety rating. My wife was towing a 109 at the time so hit the renault with the weight of two landrovers. Here's the 109 after the engine was removed . You can see the damage to the chassis is pretty bad. The 110 was parallellogrammed. the more I looked the more damage I found . Main thing is, no one was hurt.
abn deuce
Yes your right if no injuries then you look to the vehicles. Did the other drive simply pull out in to your wifes path? So both your LR's are totaled and will be stripped of all salvageable parts I d guess ? Are there many like them on the used vehicle market over there ? Davie
The rig started weaving and she crossed over and hit the car head on. The insurance company did not let me salvage any of the parts which I was pretty annoyed about.
abn deuce
understood its the same here once the insurance claim is paid its their property . Again It's a miracle that no one was hurt . Hope you will find another LR to restore soon .

She was pretty freaked out by the smash for quite a while though.
Tony B
Yes but have you broken Kirsty of the habit of suddenly pulling up at the side of the road if someone waves at you? (She'll know what I mean, a fellow sufferer.)
