Carruthers
Has anyone got any pics of Bedford MWs in the desert? Shots of inside the cab would also be useful as i shall soon have to build the cab floor! Simon
LeeEnfield
Hi Simon What kind of pic's do you need ?? (just floor or floor + 'rear of engine protrusion',) No desert pic's though,...........sorry. All the best, Andy
Rick W
I know its scandalous to suggest such things have you tried http://www.axishistory.com , search on that forum under vehicles, what about MLU forum and do a pic search?

Carruthers
Thanks for the input boys. Nice pix (ta Jules) and proves the desert look to be a winner (saves re-spraying my Jeep too!!) Shame mine isn't an aero screened version, unless I take off the doors and repro the small screens!!! However, in The Way Ahead film, you seen the cast roll up in an MW in Egypt. It has a full screen etc, but no front or rear canvas and looks great (cheaper resto if you delete the canvas cost too!!). We did 8th Army at W&P last year with a corner of a desert building as the backdrop. If the truck is done we might revisit that idea.... I like the Bren hanging off the rear cab rail, shown in the film, but not sure it it would be sensible to pul the trigger!! I'll check out those web sites Jules - - - - did you buy that C8 Rik was telling me about??????? cheers Simon
thedawnpatrol
No, it was sold to the first visitor within a week! He had a bargin there I think. If you do the Desert thing next year, let me know and I will bring my C8. Jules

Carruthers
Rik- no it's next week mate ( try to keep calm- I am trying, but not really succeeding!!) Jules - My C8 will be up for sale shortly if you're after another... RE W&P. Sounds good mate. We only had a brief chat this year and I'm hoping to talk to Andrew Sawford and his boys about maybe getting together again as this year only poss more co-ordinated. we'll see... No Signals
Thats a great pic; Like Rick, I've not seen it before, where did you find it ?? Looks like its been 'modded', by its new owners. Isn't this a still from a film? It seems to ring a bell somewhere in the depths, but will happliy concede if I'm wrong.
Carruthers
yeah I wonder if you're right... It's been re-bodied alright or possibly skinned in steel over the planks?? Mine should look pretty much like that when it's done: full screen no tilt in desert etc. Good find Rick.

Rick W
Now thats an interesting camo scheme, Ive not seen an MW in that before. Be good to do one like that, all the MWs restored Ive seen, just have plain OD.
Richard Farrant
Now thats an interesting camo scheme, Rick, I think the large heart shape on the bonnet, could be gas detection paint..........could be wrong,
elvis
do you know what the gun is ,i suppose the bedford was left on the beach at Dunkirk ,what a shame? :dunno:
No Signals
I am of the opinion that this picture shows the loading of the same gun. Both pics can be found on the IWM site. I forget what caption went with either of them.
