Mark Ellis Posted December 24, 2023 Share Posted December 24, 2023 I recently learnt that whilst some RAF stations had Off road courses or railway sleepers near to the Crash bays, for the Salamander - some stations actually had rollers fitted into the floor of the Mk 6 Salamander bay. This being to relieve the transmission wind up on both sides of the Salamander as they reversed in. I've only managed to find this photo, which shows most of one roller.
