Photo of Salamander floor rollers in RAF Crash bays

Recommended Posts

I recently learnt that whilst some RAF stations had Off road courses or railway sleepers near to the Crash bays, for the Salamander - some stations actually had rollers fitted into the floor of the Mk 6 Salamander bay. This being to relieve the transmission wind up on both sides of the Salamander as they reversed in.

I've only managed to find this photo, which shows most of one roller. I wonder if anyone has a photo that shows both rollers clearly, and would be prepared to share it, please.

Many thanks
