andym
I've found a Lake & Elliott "Millennium" 4 ton jack amongst my bits and pieces which I believe to be the correct jack for my Abbot so I'd like to restore it. At the moment the top screw is seized solid and pumping the handle achieves nothing. Does anyone have experience of rebuilding these and/or know where I may be able to obtain new seals etc? Richard Farrant
Hi Andy, This company website states they can supply seal kits for Lake & Elliott jacks; https://www.commercialsupplies.co.uk/parts/hydraulic-seal-kits/

Rangie
With Lake and Elliott jacks, putting the handle all the way down lowers the jack. When you get a bit of pressure you can feel the stop/detent near the bottom of the stroke, until then it feels the same all the way down. Try pumping about two-thirds of the stroke from the top. If there's oil in the jack it should build pressure and move 🤞 If not, some 15 weight Jack Oil would do for topping it up 🙂 Once out a bit you can give the top of the ram a little heat and see if it encourages the screw-top adjustment to move. Good luck, Alec.
