Three Holes in the Right Side of a Dodge WC51 - What Are They?

When I was repainting my Dodge, I noticed three small holes on the right side, top edge of the body, just behind the centre bow. Having looked at other pictures, I noticed the same three holes in a friend's Dodge. Mine was ex-Norwegian, not sure about his.

Can anyone tell me what they were for? Were they for a wartime fitting or something done by the Norwegians?
