woa2
It's American, 1944/45, and I think it was their first jet fighter - prototype only. Can't remember the model or manufacturer, but I think it was Bell. This photo looks like a reproduction machine in USA. Anyone else help? Rick W
Bell XP-59a. I thought they started in 1942 testing, I could be wrong? :dunno:
ArtistsRifles
Damn - maybe this was too easy!!! OK then - what unusual steps did the flight crew take to ensure secrecy after it was seen in the air???

ArtistsRifles
Nope - but you've kind of got the right idea!!
Jessie The Jeep
I believe it was called the 'Airacomet'. 66 Were built, and they were used for training pilots on jet engine operation. First 'official' flight 2nd Oct 1942, but I don't know if there was an unofficial flight! Steve

It did have a dummy propeller added on the ground, and I think jet intakes and exhaust were covered by canvas. Steve
AlienFTM
I believe it was called the 'Airacomet'. I wouldn't be at all surprised. As soon as somebody mentioned Bell, I thought it had a family resemblance to an Airacobra.

Jessie The Jeep
That's part right - now what about in the air??? They launched a squadron of weather balloons sent to crash at Roswell to deceive the public into thinking we were being invaded by weathermen from another planet ( and if you see some of their forecasts, you would think they WERE from another planet!!! ) Steve
