ArtistsRifles
Just got back from two weeks in France which involved three trips to the panzer Museum at Saumur. Excellent place and when I can get at the pictures on the latop I'll post further info. Suffice it to say it's an excellent place to vist if you are in the land of the Frogglies.... ArtistsRifles
Bit more details - entry to the museum is 6 Euros and a photo permit is another 10 Euros. Well worth it - from my experience if taking photos then 2 days really are required to see everything. Note - make sure you take a decent camera with you and don't do what I did - get to France and find the wife had forgotten to pack the decent camera so a cheap one had to be obtained over there. A big diffference in quality between £300 worth of digi-cam and a £30 one.... Museum is hard to find following signs - a sat-nav unit is a god-send - as some of the signs are weater-worn and barely legible when driving past at 50 klicks/Hr. Exhibits start at WW1 and range up to contemporary with a lot of unusual stuff - if you go look out for the se-through Sherman and the Russian T55 training skeleton OK - now the good news - pictures are now up on my webshots album - see ]http://rides.webshots.com/album/560537026KIRiVE] http://thumb3.webshots.net/t/14/15/6/22/31/2405622310045735103NekUQv_th.jpg[/img] Here's a couple of samples - firstly one for Clive :-) For the Axis enthusiasts - a "Brumbar" recovery vehicle: For the allied fans - a Comet: For the Postwar guys - a Swedish Strydsvagen (S Tank):
