LarryH57
I saw this site on the SAAF which contains stories and photo albums from those who served in SAAF in North Africa and Italy etc. This particular album contains many vehicle photos. CMP-Phil
Many thanks for posting the link to SAAF web site, tons of interesting photographs, besure to follow the links back to the main page of the site for even more photos and information. If you are interested in CMPs there are lots of great photos showing them being used. Most important the whole site gives you a rare glimps into how these men spent the WWII and how hard the living conditions were this was not living in an nice baracks. These young men are our fathers, grand fathers. Cheers Phil
LarryH57
Photos 70 onwards seem to show the results of a Luftwaffe bombing and strafing run Edited November 26, 2018 by LarryH57
LarryH57
As you recommended Phil, the other pages show a few German vehicles in SAAF service, which I did not expect as most photos of the Campaign in North Africa seem to focus on the German use of British, Commonwealth and US vehicles. LarryH57
In another page there is this CMP. It looks to be an early version as the rear tub is of a type fitted to 12 cab CMPs and the wood railings look of a type that were locally built in Egypt. http://saafww2photographs.yolasite.com/hinton-brown-italy-1944-album-3.php
