These are for the wartime humber snipe staff cars used after 1949.

found this one on the web 19 YE 48 ? is this one made up?

the list of numbers allocated to wartime vehicles in 1949 list numbers gives 00 YE 01 to 30 YE 40 as been JAGUAR 1/2 TON TRAILER  l have cross referenced this with the no2 key card list and confirms this. The numbers I gave are from the 1949 inventory list of vehicle stock that was held at the out set of the new  postwar series of registration numbers  I have the later list  dated 1952 which shows a reduction in the number of wartime vehicles still in service due to there replacement by new vehicles l will  check this list to see if any of the old stock was renumbered but do not think this has happened in this case

The attached shows 19 Y? 48 this from a file on vehicles the correspondence in the file shows that there was a doubt as to whether it is a faint F or E as can be seen the letter has been altered in the end it was said from their  files the correct registration was indeed 19 YF 48 this all took place in 1979
