Upottery - some more pictures

Picture one is of the Pilots barracks and each room had its own pot belly stove and it is now just empty and quite :cry:

Picture two is simply an intact light witch in one of the rooms - I always like the little 'human' elements of history.

 

Picture three was taken from the observation platform of the control and it is showing the 'signal square' and as you can see it is very well apparent as the square is greener than the rest of the silage field.

 

Picture four is again taken from the viewing platform and shows the purpose built hard standing in front of the control tower and this was built for the Jeeps, Dodges etc etc that were used by the control tower personel...now full of weeds.

I find these very inspiring. We're currently searching the neigbourhood for old german trences and bunkers. Searching thru the national archives for information and maps. There was a lot of these around, not big but plenty I've been told. We'll see what we find...
