Asian KM414

Hi All

I'm new to the forum and I was hoping someone could help me in relation to Asian Military Vehicle M414 which I have just purchased overseas. I have two questions

1. I am considering converting the vehicle from a 1.8 Petrol to a 1.9 or 2.2 diesel. I ve been quoted for a Toyota engine that could fit but is their any other engines you guys would recommend would be best suited for the vehicle.

2. Are there UK body shops that could fit custom made soft tops for the vehicle. And also have doors for the Jeep .

Many thanks in advance for your replies.

Monty1952,

Please excuse my ignorance, what is a KM414 ?

Dear Barrie,

No worries I was unaware of the vehicle until I bought it. The brief history I have about the vehicle is that they are based on the original Jeep CJ5 made by American Motors. The KM series was manufactured by Asian Motors in South Korea in the late 1970s for military use.

I think there are a few posts on the forum regarding the jeep.

Tony B - I'm back in the UK I will have to make a phone call abroad to get the exact specification. I'm more interested in obtaining the soft tops and doors. And whether this could be done in the UK or I'd have to look abroad for it.

Many Thanks Guys
