According to Hodges & Taylor, 4/7 RDG displayed the Arm of Service serial '994' on a red background (with white bar under as 'Army Troops') and with the formation sign of the independent 8th Armoured Brigade - the fox's head. This site seems to confirm - http://www.flamesofwar.com/default.aspx?tabid=110&art_id=590&kb_cat_id=27 Specific photographic evidence is the only way to be absolutely sure.
