MartinN
How do you change the oil in a jeep gearbox without getting covered in the stuff.
Pete Ashby
Not easy Martin I'm afraid always a messy job, taking the skid plate off makes it slightly easier to clean up afterwards. I have a flat sided funnel with a angled spout I picked up years ago but it still runs down your arm particularly when you drop the drain plug:-( Pete
Scammell4199
bloody difficult and usually involves a lot of expletives. I have a metal syringe about 3 inches diameter and about 12 inches long, that does the trick. Good luck, Richard
Nick Johns
To drain gearbox with the skid plate fitted can be messy as mentioned above, refilling can be worse ...however an easy way to refill the gearbox, first remove filler plug, then remove gaiter from round the gearlever, remove gearlever, pour required amount of oil into the gear lever hole, check for correct level when oil runs out of filler hole.
