0644hunt
Hi,I am having problems with my 24v 90 Amp Alternator fitted to my Land Rover 110 FFR. It is the one that has B1, W/L and B2 terminals on the back of it. It used to charge the rear batteries ok. Now it doesn't. Does anyone have a way to test the Alternator to see if it is working ok.Thanks,

fv1609
Is there anyway I can check whats coming out of the Alternator? I would have thought stick a voltmeter across B1 & B2 When you established which is -ve (B2 I think) then put the +ve prod on WL the warning light terminal. There are two: 24v ignition warning light relay 24v ignition warning light black out relay (Ignore the top arrow which is the ammeter of course) They are both under here:

0644hunt
Thanks, I will have a look. Hi, I have fixed the problem. It was a earthing fault. New Earthing strap and I am charging at 28volts again. Thanks for all the help.
fv1609
Ah well done, nice & cheap outcome. Appreciate you letting us know. Apart from me there are many who watch & like to see how things pan out. Just seen your post about documents. The AESPs have very scant information. A few very basic tests, removing it & fitting it plus I think some bearing info. Pretty feeble on the electrical detail I'm afraid, nobody needs to know these days. Chuck it away & fit another.
